‘Police galore’: Caller says car mounted footpath

A caller to 3AW has described the scene. This is some of what they said:

“It’s just a suburban street, a car has mounted the footpath. There’s four ambulances there, police galore, and all the roads are blocked off. It’s quite horrendous.

“I did not see it, but a neighbour of mine was there. Then the car took off, down the park near the playground, a person ran off, and that’s why the helicopters have been going around.

“The roads are all still blocked off. No one can go down there.”

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a collision on Coleman Road in Wantirna South.
