People are being warned to plan ahead when travelling on trains in December and January due to track closures which will affect all rail lines.
The track closures, from Saturday through to January 26, were scheduled as part of Cross River Rail work and Queensland Rail maintenance.
During the Christmas week, December 20-28, all rail lines will be impacted by track closures and travel changes.

On the northside, buses will replace trains on all lines between Roma Street and Northgate/Eagle Junction, and on the Ferny Grove line.
On the southern lines on December 20 and 21, Beenleigh and Gold Coast trains will run as a combined all-stops service between Varsity Lakes, on the Gold Coast, and Banoon station in Sunnybank.
Buses will replace trains between Yeerongpilly and Banoon.
From December 22 to 24, stations from Roma Street to Northgate/Eagle Junction station and the Ferny Grove line will be closed.
Buses will replace trains during this time.
From December 29 to January 1, all train lines will operate on a special timetable, with extra New Year’s Eve bus and train services.
All train lines will run on a regular timetable on January 2.
From January 3 to 26, Beenleigh and Gold Coast line trains will run as a combined all-stops service between Varsity Lakes and Banoon stations.
From January 3 to 11, buses will replace trains between Yeerongpilly and Banoon.
From January 12 to 26, buses will replace trains between Boggo Road and Banoon.
Buses will also replace trains between Cleveland and Manly stations on the long weekend from January 24 to 26 so Queensland Rail crews can recondition the Birkdale Road overbridge.
All services will return to the regular timetable on Tuesday, January 27, for the start of the 2026 school year.

Translink acting head Dean Helm asked people to plan ahead and allow plenty of travel time.
“We understand this will be an inconvenience to customers which is why these works occur mostly during the school holidays, when less customers travel on the network,” he said.
“We will have plenty of services available to help get you where you need to go, including connections to regular bus routes and rail replacement buses.”
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority’s work includes installation of signalling infrastructure, forming new tracks, and draining works between Albion and Bowen Hills.
It will also include cable relocation and testing, overhead and communication wiring installation, and under-track crossing installing between Salisbury and Boggo Road station.
Over the festive season, Queensland Rail will do track maintenance between Bowen Hills, Wooloowin and Ferny Grove, as well as on the Cleveland line.
