Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s possible Jackie O podcast meet-up

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Harry, Duke of Sussex, are due to visit Australia for the first time in seven years. In a post to X, ITV royal editor Chris Ship confirmed the news, announcing a spokesperson said they were due to arrive in April.

“Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit Australia in mid-April to take part in a number of private, business and philanthropic engagements,” the spokesperson told Ship.

While announcing the imminent arrival of Meghan and Harry, several local news outlets, including news.com.au and Sky News, also speculated that Meghan would appear on the local podcast Her Best Life.

What is Jackie O’s podcast Her Best Life?

Her Best Life was launched by Gemma O’Neill and Jackie “O” Henderson in 2024 through their company, Besties.

The pair co-hosted the show together until recently, when Henderson announced she would “step away” from the podcast in an episode that aired on February 3. She said she might return occasionally for a guest appearance, but otherwise would be no longer working with the company.

Her Best Life was a separate venture to Henderson’s radio career, which encountered turbulence 2½ weeks later when an on-air disagreement triggered a massive rift between Henderson and her radio co-host of 27 years’, Kyle Sandilands.

The fate of The Kyle and Jackie O Show is still uncertain, but could Henderson make her big comeback with a little help from Meghan?

Is Meghan going to appear on Her Best Life?

At the time of publication, representatives for Her Best Life had not responded to requests for comment, and it had not been confirmed that Meghan would be a guest.

Beyond Henderson and O’Neill securing Gwyneth Paltrow for an exclusive Besties Q&A event in 2023, it’s unclear why Her Best Life has been touted as the obvious option for Meghan while in Australia. Far from being the top podcast in the country, it is not listed in the top 300 of the Australian Podcast Ranker.

Meghan and Harry’s itinerary for their trip, which is rumoured to include visits to Sydney and Melbourne, is yet to be released.

Which podcasts has Meghan appeared on?

The last time Harry and Meghan visited Australia was in 2018 for the Invictus Games. The couple’s lives have changed considerably since then, including Meghan’s foray into podcast hosting.

Meghan’s first podcast was Archetypes, which was released in August 2022 and featured the former-Suits actor interviewing people such as Serena Williams and Paris Hilton with the aim to “investigate, dissect and subvert the labels that try to hold women back”. The show ran for a single season before being cancelled by Spotify in 2023.

Meghan’s second podcast was Confessions of a Female Founder. Launched in March 2025 with Lemonada Media, the show involved Meghan talking to “amazing women who have scaled small ideas into successful companies”. Guests included Bumble’s Whitney Wolfe Herd and Sara Blakely of Spanx.

Beyond her own, the only podcast Meghan has appeared on is The Jamie Kern Lima Show, hosted by IT Cosmetics co-founder Jamie Kern Lima.

What other Australian podcasts could Meghan consider?

It’s clear that Meghan is invested in female entrepreneurship, so it makes sense Her Best Life – a podcast “for women who are ready to find their joy” – could be in the running, if she was considering a podcast interview. But who else might put their hand up to have her?

Mamamia’s No Filter is ranked 24th on the Australian Podcast Ranker and is a popular destination for businesswomen.

Mecca Talks could also be an option. Mecca founder Jo Horgan – one of Australia’s most successful female entrepreneurs – isn’t the host, but guests have included Richard Christiansen, the Australian-born, LA-based founder of Flamingo Estate. When Meghan announced her lifestyle brand As Ever (formerly American Riviera Orchard), many noted the similarities between its offering and that of Flamingo Estate, an innovator in the space of artisanal food and self-care products.

KICPod, hosted by successful entrepreneurs Steph Claire Smith and Laura Henshaw, could also be a safe bet.

But then, when has Meghan ever gone with the safest option?
