Woman charged with murder over fire that killed three

A woman has been charged with murder over the Gladstone house fire that killed two young boys and a woman.

The property, on Whiting Street in the suburb of Toolooa, went up in flames about 6am on October 15.

Neighbours said they heard two bangs followed by a woman screaming for help.

The bodies of 36-year-old Jordana Johnson, her 12-year-old son Jordan Norris and his 13-year-old friend Chazz Mather were later recovered by emergency teams.

Police confirmed on Friday morning they had charged a 37-year-old Toolooa woman with three counts of murder and two counts of arson.

She was expected to face a bedside hearing today.

After the fire, another person known to the family was spoken to by police.

That person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The home is owned by the Department of Housing, and a department spokesperson said they would work with investigators to determine the cause.
