Selections based on a good track.

Race 1

6. Spicy Surprise ran well enough when third in his first two starts here and at Hawkesbury, then was back to this track last time out and was midfield behind Crathie Kirk in a handy maiden. This looks a much easier assignment, and he is poised to break through for a win. 8. All Kirked Up finished third at Canberra on debut and followed that up with a midfield effort at Hawkesbury. An improved showing is on the cards here. 5. Compadre ran ninth at this track on debut, but had trialled OK before that and is a chance of improving enough to be competitive. 3. Redford River is lightly raced and has been placed in one of three starts. He finished second at Muswellbrook in his second run and a repeat of that would have him in the mix here.
How to play it: Spicy Surprise to win.

Race 2

1. Maxandus has had just three starts at Tamworth, and was placed in the last two of them before being spelled. He resumes here in what is not an overly tough race and can open his account. 6. Milly’s Image is on debut and has had two recent trials in preparation for what should be a prominent display. 4. By Linda resumes here and wasn’t too far away in recent runs before the break. 2. Storm Capital was down the track here behind Truce when resuming and can improve on that.
How to play it: Maxandus to win.

Race 3

1. Supairo has been racing well with three placings from his past four starts. He was just edged out at Nowra as favourite behind Forcefilly when last produced and is knocking on the door for another win. 6. Chestime had been racing well before a last-start failure at this track. Worth another chance. 5. Insain Jewel won on debut at Nowra in June and has not figured in two runs back from a spell. An improved showing is on the cards. 7. Tourtel has been racing well and can figure again without surprising.
How to play it: Supairo to win.

Race 4

5. Rainbow Blessing raced in a prominent position at Quirindi last time out and gave nothing else a chance. She had been placed in three of four runs before that and is on the way up. 4. She’s Got Teeth was placed in a couple of runs before a midfield last-start run at this track. 3. Eject was placed at Moree two starts ago and has place claims with a repeat of that, while 2. Best Of Maher is third up from a spell and ready to peak.
How to play it: Rainbow Blessing to win.

Race 5

6. Truce had run well in a couple of trials before making her debut at this track and hitting the line well to score a strong win a couple of weeks ago. She camped on the speed then and knuckled down well late. She sticks to the 1000m here and should be strong to the line. 2. Great Cosmic impressed when winning his first start at Tamworth in August and then finished down the track at the same track in September. He is fresh for this and can bounce back. 5. Athena’s Treasure was a winner at Dubbo at her second start in January and resumes here after two trials. 7. Lily Bobtail has been placed in both runs since resuming and has minor claims again.
How to play it: Truce to win.

Race 6

1. Mega Pixel is a well-bred gelding in the Kris Lees stable and is lining up for his second race start here having finished second at Quirindi on debut. He had trialled well before that and Aaron Bullock sticks with him after being in the saddle at Quirindi. 4. Rockabel Lad makes his debut for the local stable of Rodney Northam and is worth thought after finishing third in a recent trial. 6. Smashing Nova had two runs earlier in the year for a third at Muswellbrook and a fourth at Coffs Harbour, and resumes here after two solid trials. 10. Ocean Tsunami is another local on debut for trainer Scott Singleton, and she has had three trials. She has a wide barrier to overcome.
How to play it: Mega Pixel to win.

Race 7

8. Nyali Sands is a talented mare at best with three wins and five places from 15 starts, and she resumes from a spell. She’s had two trials in preparation and has finished second in two of four first-up starts. Expect her to sprint well fresh. 5. Night Fighter was midfield in a Rosehill Highway before scoring a dominant win at Coonabarabran. He was since midfield at Armidale and can give this a shake. 2. Kate’s Tiara was a winner at Moree in August and comes into this after two seconds at Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast. 3. Canny Prospect has been racing well since resuming with a third at Dubbo followed by a win and a second at Port Macquarie.
How to play it: Nyali Sands each way.
