Five teenagers have been arrested and charged after a BMW some of them are accused of stealing crashed into a police car in a four-vehicle pile-up in Nerang on Sunday.
The eldest of the alleged offenders was just 14 years old.
Police said the group of teens had been speeding in a convoy including an allegedly stolen Hyundai Elantra and a BMW X6 along Riverview Road, and caught the attention of patrolling officers about 3.10am.

The pair of vehicles continued travelling up the road, where the group allegedly spotted another police patrol, upon which the driver of the Elantra braked hard.
The BMW struck the Hyundai and was propelled into the police car.
The Hyundai was pushed forward and crashed into a parked car.
The five teenagers fled from the crash site on foot, police said, and were arrested shortly afterwards.
The officer at the wheel of the police vehicle struck by the BMW was taken to hospital.
Police said the Hyundai had been reported stolen on October 3 from a home in Underwood, while the BMW was allegedly stolen from an Upper Coomera address earlier that evening.
The five teenagers were charged with a total of 19 offences between them, including breach of bail offences for a 13-year-old Pimpama boy, a 13-year-old Stretton girl and 14-year-old Pimpama girl.
A 14-year-old Durack boy was charged with seven offences, including one count of stealing, enter premises and burglary, and three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The teenagers were expected to appear before Southport Children’s Court on October 6.
