Selections based on a heavy track.

Race 1

3. Prizuga has been racing well with two soft track placings from his past two starts when beaten less than a length in each of them. He’s drawn the inside here with Siena Grima to ride and gets his chance to break through with a maiden victory. 4. Sethnique was lining up for his fourth start in a race and was second up from a spell when a last-start second at Moree and only needs to run up to that effort to be difficult to hold out in this. 2. Frankie’s Shout has been placed in both of his runs since resuming from a spell and warrants plenty of thought in this line up, while 8. Eye For Style finished third at Goulburn two starts ago and has the talent to make an impact here with a repeat.
How to play it: Prizuga to win.

Race 2

9. Full Rioga is a filly on debut for the Annabel and Rob Archibald stable and she comes into this on the back of two recent trials. She won the latest of them at Scone and looks primed to run a bold race. 2. Karmardo has performed well finishing third in his past two starts, at Wyong and Gosford. He’s drawn awkwardly here but has the ability to run well again. 8. Chamber Of Secrets is another filly on debut, and she’s had two recently at Scone, winning both. Expect a forward showing. 7. Backhander resumed from a spell with a solid second at Tamworth and should run well here form the inside alley.
How to play it: Full Rioga to win.

Race 3

3. Swexan is lightly raced with a win and a placing from five starts. He’s been below his best in his past two starts, but is capable of improving here. 1. Gwendie has been racing well with two straight placings at Kembla Grange before a last-start ninth in Midway grade at Rosehill. This looks within her reach. 2. Final Impact has been placed in his past three starts and looks set to make an impact again here with a repeat of that form. 6. Winning Reign won well at Narromine two starts ago and then hit the line well when midfield at Scone when last produced.
How to play it: Swexan to win.

Race 4

3. Dr Evil is getting on in years but has been racing well and comes into this on the back of a last-start win on the Kensington track when hitting the line well. He’s a consistent type that has won more than half a million dollars in prizemoney and warrants plenty of respect. 2. Aix En Provence is a last-start Gosford winner that warrants thought again, while 6. Rajnish has been racing in great form and comes into this on the back of a last-start second in the Narromine Cup. 4. Lockdown Gamble is a talented galloper at best and did finish third in the Narromine Cup two starts ago. He since finished fifth at Mudgee.
How to play it: Dr Evil to win.

Race 5

4. Good Once has had 29 starts and only scored one win, but he’s also had 14 minor placings. He wasn’t beaten far when a last-start fifth at this track and looks set to perform well. 1. Slush Fund was down the track in the Narromine Cup when last produced but will find this easier and can improve. 2. Chico Casino won at Wellington three starts ago and can improve on his past two efforts, while 3. Bottom Bar is talented at best and isn’t out of this.
How to play it: Good Once each way.

Race 6

3. Ringarosa is a well-performed galloper that has three straight city placings from her past three starts. She’s drawn well here and only needs to have maintained that form to be the one to beat. 5. Turned Down was a winner at Parkes three starts ago and has since been midfield in two Highway runs. This looks more suitable. 10. Miss Emma ran home well for a last-start second at Canberra, while 12. Jolly Good Fellow is talented at best and won a couple at Orange and this track before failing at Gosford in his past two starts.
How to play it: Ringarosa to win.

Race 7

2. Romantic Love has shown talent in his career with a win and three minor placings from just the seven starts. He failed to fire at Wellington when last produced, but ran well before that when finishing second at Scone. The rails draw is in his favour here. 4. Joy Of The World is first up from a spell here and wasn’t beaten far in a recent Mudgee trial. 9. Green Pineapple ran home well when a close-up fourth last time out at Wellington and should be hitting the line hard again here. 1. Brutal Love was a winner at Orange in January. His past two starts have been below his best, but he is more than capable of turning things around.
How to play it: Romantic Love to win.
