Five “kill cars” allegedly intended to be used in underworld murders and kidnappings on behalf of organised crime networks were seized on Thursday following a series of dramatic home arrests.
Police arrested three males, aged 16, 18, 21, alleged to be members of the “G7” gang, an emerging group of young men and teens recruited by underworld groups to execute high-profile acts of violence.

“Kill cars” made headlines this week when two were allegedly used in a foiled plot to assassinate a man at a Sydney daycare centre pick-up on Tuesday.
The alleged “kill team” of three would-be assassins was stopped in Revesby following covert operations under Strike Force Flodine, an investigation into serious and organised crime across Sydney.
“Kill cars” are often stolen vehicles with cloned or false number plates that are set ablaze once a criminal act has been completed. They are a trademark of many Sydney shootings.

Police continued work under the strike force on Thursday, leading to the seizure of five vehicles, a firearm and ammunition, $41,000 in cash, GPS trackers, and 37 mobile phones and other communication devices. Thursday’s arrests are part of a separate phase of Strike Force Flodine, not in direct connection with the arrests at Revesby. The men arrested on Thursday are not accused of involvement in the alleged daycare plot.
It’s alleged the G7 gang is one of several Sydney underworld groups using such vehicles, which organised crime squad commander Detective Superintendent Peter Faux called a “common denominator in serious and violent crimes linked to organised crime”.

“These vehicles aren’t just transport; they’re tools of violence,” Faux said.
“Recognising their important role is helping us stay ahead of contract criminals and allowing us to intervene before harm is done.”
Police arrested the 18- and 21-year-old man at a home in Oran Park, and both were charged with dealing with an instrument of crime and participating in a criminal group.
The younger man was also charged with conspiracy to commit a serious offence, and four counts of knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime with an intent to conceal.

The 21-year-old will face two counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon, knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime, and using, supplying, acquiring or possessing a defaced firearm.
