A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a 58-year-old father was found allegedly stabbed to death during a house party at the family home in Clayfield, in Brisbane’s inner north.

Police had received an emergency call on Thursday night that a man had been critically injured, and arrived at the Oriel Road home after 8.15pm.

Nine News reported the house was full of teenagers, and responding crews found the dead man upstairs at the property.

“When we got here it was quite a chaotic scene. There were about 30 young people here having a party,” Inspector Jane Healy said.

The son of the dead man, who Nine reported had been stabbed to death, had phoned police.

Police said a teenager was found in Barlow Street, several streets away, and officers took him into custody for questioning overnight.

The teenager was set to appear at court in Brisbane on Friday.
