Selections based on a soft track.

Race 1

1. Ohtani has only won the one race from 18 starts but has a further four placings. He has not been beaten too far in his three most recent runs, including a last-start third at Hawkesbury. He has the advantage of gate one in this and gets his chance to score another win. 8. Blue Eyed Brigid resumed from a spell with a solid effort when finishing second at Newcastle and followed that up with a dominant victory at Hawkesbury last start. She is racing well enough to give this a shake. 5. Ocean Chill won well on debut at Scone and then finished fourth as favourite on the Beaumont track at Newcastle. Worth another chance. 6. Rose Water has finished second in both runs since resuming from a spell and can be prominent.
How to play it: Ohtani each way.

Race 2

3. Bank Heist is lightly raced with two placings to his name from five starts and resumed from a long spell with a last-start fourth at Nowra. He’s since had a trial on the Beaumont track at Newcastle and looks ready to run a big race. 1. Ridgeback has finished second in two of his three starts, including a solid effort last time out behind Blue Eyed Brigid. 2. Silver Tempest has only had two starts and finished third in each of them at Orange and Hawkesbury. He can figure prominently. 4. Currahee is a former Hong Kong-based galloper that has been fitted for this return to racing with two recent trials and is expected to run well fresh.
How to play it: Bank Heist to win.

Race 3

12. Royal Chic is a talented filly with three placings to her name from five starts, including a third in the listed Oxlade Stakes in Brisbane. She resumes from a spell here after two trials and looks poised to break through with a win. 8. Yoweri was placed on debut at Goulburn and then ran fourth at Hawkesbury at his only other start. 3. Composed ran a solid fourth at Hawkesbury on debut and followed that up with a second at the same track last time out. 1. Last Apache is on debut for a strong stable and has had two recent trials.
How to play it: Royal Chic to win.

Race 4

9. Jarrito was placed at her only start when third at Warwick Farm in June. She returns from a break here after two recent trial wins. 8. Fornelli is on debut after a number of trials and looks set to run a bold race. 7. Brroosha is on debut and comes into this after winning a trial on the Beaumont track. 2. I Am Carrot is resuming and has shown ability in his career with a city placing.
How to play it: Jarrito to win.

Race 5

1. Divo won a Wyong maiden in June between a debut second at Newcastle and a second at Canterbury on a heavy track in July. He resumes here after two trials and should be primed to sprint well fresh. 11. Spice Baby was a winner on debut at Moruya by a big margin and is first up from a spell here after a second in a recent Kembla Grange trial. 7. Nymphadora was close up when placed at Hawkesbury last time out. 5. Ye Siree followed a Wyong maiden win with two fourth placings and resumes from a spell here.
How to play it: Divo to win.

Race 6

7. Telling had been thereabouts before breaking through with another victory in strong style at Orange at last start. He is rarely far from the action. 4. Zocketman has only had two starts and has won each of them either side of a spell at Muswellbrook and on the Beaumont track at Newcastle. He has a wide alley to contend with but looks to have plenty of ability. 3. Written Scandal resumed from a spell with a third at Newcastle and then was not too far away when seventh at Warwick Farm. She also has a wide gate but has the talent to be thereabouts. 10. Maz Kanata was placed at Goulburn when last produced, and she can show up again here.
How to play it: Telling each way.

Race 7

2. Mailata ran well at the end of his last campaign when finishing second at Randwick. He had two trials before resuming from a spell at Warwick Farm when finishing fourth behind subsequent Brisbane winner Lyles. He should benefit from that run and can be in the thick of things here. 8. Bremel won two on end at Hawkesbury and Kembla Grange in February and was then spelled. She resumed with a down-the-track effort at Eagle Farm and can bounce back to form. 7. Detendu returned from a break with a solid third at Hawkesbury and only needs to replicate that effort to be a factor. 5. No Statement is a speedy type that can give plenty of cheek with a run to suit.
How to play it: Mailata to win.
