Technical issues left thousands of Lady Gaga fans locked out Suncorp Stadium last night, with the show beginning nearly an hour late.
Problems were discovered during the star’s soundcheck, resulting in the gates opening at 5.50pm instead of 5pm as planned.

The disruption led to fans queuing outside Suncorp for another two hours.
“This delay resulted in a backlog of patrons queuing on the stadium’s external plazas. This backlog exacerbated the already delayed entry, resulting in patrons experiencing unusually long wait times,” a Suncorp Stadium spokesman said.

The spokesman said 95 per cent of ticket holders were in the venue by 7.52pm. But the show had already kicked off by then, with Gaga – billed to go on at 7pm – taking the stage at 7.40pm.
Fans on social media posted videos of the show starting while they were still stranded outside the gates.
“The venue, as always, will perform an extensive debrief with all stakeholders in the coming days,” the spokesman said.
