A teenage girl has been found dead near the Maheno shipwreck on K’gari.
Emergency teams were called to reports of an unresponsive female on the eastern beach on the island, formerly known as Fraser Island, about 6.35am on Monday.
She was declared dead a short time later and a crime scene was established.

Police confirmed they did not know how the teenager died and were investigating.
She was yet to be identified and a Queensland Police Service spokesperson could not confirm the teenager was a tourist.
Dingoes were in the area when her body was found, but it was unclear if she had been attacked.
