Teen fights for life after Sydney house party stabbing

A teenager is fighting for life in hospital after being stabbed in a brawl outside a house party in Sydney’s west, where riot police were called in to disperse a crowd of about 40 people.

Calls came into emergency services about 10.40pm on Tuesday with reports of a brawl breaking out in the driveway of a home on Sedgman Crescent, Shalvey.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times and was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Specialist officers including riot police and dog squad officers were called in to manage the crowd who remained at the scene.

No other injuries have been reported nor any arrests made.

The people involved in the brawl are not believed to live at the property where the party took place, a police spokesperson said.

A crime scene was established as the investigation commenced, with police seen combing the scene by torchlight, searching through bins and speaking with people who remained at the scene.
