The Rose Bay mansion of property developer Orazio Camuglia and his wife Yolanda sold for more than $80 million earlier this week, smashing the $54.6 million suburb record.

Forbes Global Properties’ Ken Jacobs, who held the listing alongside Hui Xu, confirmed the sale to this masthead but declined to comment on the exact sale price or buyer.

The exact sum will be revealed at settlement, but a deal at that level would mark Sydney’s most expensive house sale of the year so far.

The trophy home consists of three separate residences with a total of eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and four car spaces, set on 1138 square metres.

Interiors are contemporary with concrete detail, floor-to-ceiling glass, parquetry floors and Carrara marble. There’s also a pool, gym and sauna.

A terrace offers uninterrupted views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and there is a boathouse for sailing enthusiasts.
