Selections based on a soft track
Race 1
2. Pentagon is a former New Zealander that debuted for the Bjorn Baker stable with a strong win at this track last month. He went straight to the front in that event and dominated as an odds-on favourite to score with ease. There’s no reason he can’t go on with the job in this. 3. I Am Carrot has always shown promise and followed a resuming second at Gosford with a last start Wyong win when breaking his maiden in good style. Another forward showing is on the cards. 1. So Long Farewell ran well when closing off late for a second at Wyong when last produced. He’s got the ability to give this a shake with a repeat of that performance. 4. Fast Track ran well when fourth at this track when first-up from a spell and then fought on well enough for a last start second at Wyong. She should be thereabouts again.
How to play it: Pentagon WIN.

Race 2
3. Viewpoint ran well when second to Matias at Newcastle at just his second start in a race and should be in the finish again with a repeat of that. 12. Serpico has finished sixth in each of his latest two starts and can get into the placings without surprising. 10. Entrapment has been placed in both runs since resuming and has claims again. 2. Royston is resuming from a spell and has had two trials leading into this. Looks set to run a bold race while fresh.
How to play it: Viewpoint WIN.
Race 3
11. Mind Ya Bizz made her debut at Gosford in June and ran a good race when finishing second. She resumes here after two trials and is set to go one better in this line-up. 13. Seven Days had two starts at Gosford and Wyong earlier in the year and is also resuming after a couple of trials. 14. Silk Lace ran second on debut at Queanbeyan and can run a good race again, while 1. Don’t is having his first start after a couple of trials and warrants respect.
How to play it: Mind Ya Bizz WIN.
Race 4
11. Manukau had three starts earlier in the year and after a debut fifth at Rosehill she managed to finish second at Hawkesbury and then Warwick Farm before being spelled. She resumes here after two trials and is primed to return as a winner. 7. The Confidante ran well on debut when finishing third at Newcastle when not having the best of luck in the straight and another forward showing is on the cards. 12. Sweet Twilight ran fourth in the same race The Confidante contested and has claims again, while 8. The Little General has the talent to give cheek.
How to play it: Manukau WIN.
Race 5
6. Celebrity was on debut at Wyong when racing in a prominent position and coming clear to score a good win in a small field over 1625m. He is straight up to the 1800m in this and being a son of Melbourne Cup winner, Shocking, the distance should suit. He can keep his unbeaten start to his career intact. 7. Tequisoda won his maiden here back in July in good fashion. He’s had two runs back from a spell at Kembla Grange and Newcastle and has been placed in each of them. He’s ready to peak now. 2. Highborn Harry was racing well with placings at Randwick and Newcastle before a last start fourth at Randwick and he should play a strong hand in the finish. 1. Diamond Show has disappointed at her past two starts but won well here when resuming and can show up again in this on best form.
How to play it: Celebrity.

2. Rathoran settled at the rear of the field when last produced at Wyong and came with a barnstorming finish to get up and score an impressive win. That was his first run back from a spell and he steps up in distance for this assignment. 3. Oakfield Mercury was a winner at Scone before being spelled and resumed with a sound fifth at Newcastle at his latest start. He should be in the thick of things in this. 7. Shotgun Bella has been racing well with a string of placings to her name, and she gets another chance to get back into winning form here. 1. Heaven Bound is resuming from a spell and is a first-up winner that is set to sprint well fresh again.
How to play it: Rathoran EACH WAY.
Race 7
1. Valilee is lightly raced with just the two starts to his name, but he has looked good winning each of them at Gosford and this track in July and August. He resumes from a spell in this on the back of a Gosford trial win and gets his chance to extend his winning streak against these. 5. Runranirun looked good scoring a last start Canberra win to maintain her consistent record, and she should take plenty of beating again. 4. Close Encounter resumes here after a second in a recent Kembla Grange trial and his form before the break was sound. 3. Everyone’s A Star has a handy record and could bob up here without surprising.
How to play it: Valilee WIN.
