Selections based on a good track

Race 1

12. Snitzel Miss has to be the starting point, she has the right form around her through Plaintiff and while beaten favourite at Canterbury second-up she still ran well holding a clear second with the winner controlling proceedings. Drawn to have every hope again and the one to beat. 4. Konsa made a handy debut in the same race and did attract some support before running fourth. Sure to have taken some benefit from that and while perhaps he’s a next time proposition over a little more ground he can be kept safe. 3. Jet was sent out favourite and did a bit of work on speed before weakening a bit late and missing a place at Canterbury. Winner of the race is quite smart. Big turnaround with barrier one this time and he’s well worth another chance.
How to play it: Snitzel Miss WIN

Race 2

7. Unleeshing is coming off a long break but you wouldn’t know it looking at how she strode out to win her latest trial a couple of weeks ago. She did run second to Private Harry this time last year so she has ability and no surprise to see her fire fresh. 3. Useapin is capable of reeling off some quick sectionals when right and she’s an interesting runner resuming. Beat Dollar Magic at this trip in July and she doesn’t get in badly after the claim. Must respect. 6. Kilkenny hit the line strongly to just fail when resuming at Canterbury a month ago. Kept fresh so staying at the shorter trip is less a concern, this could be a gap run before a race over more ground next time but have to include.
How to play it: Unleeshing WIN

Race 3

8. Indefensible might get a good scenario to run over the top of them late if what looks to be handy speed engaged materialises. Back to this track and trip when running home into second behind Swordplay in a small field. A good chance to go one better. 4. Bremel is building a strong record with four wins from six starts and enjoyed a perfect passage before going on to win at Canterbury three weeks ago. Has the outside gate but does have some early speed and could easily tuck in again. Logical danger. 1. Wondereach beat Zealously over this course in April and has been freshened with a trial win since a disappointing effort at Randwick some six weeks back. Big weight offset to a degree by a claim. More than capable.
How to play it: Indefensible WIN

Race 4

5. Bearings is a lightly raced mare who has come back in good form with a dominant win at Canberra second-up at 2000m as a short-priced favourite. Promises to get a nice run again, she must be close to her peak fitness and this is only a BM64. Can run well. 9. Placid Pearl is the horse to beat on her last start third at Canterbury where she was a warm favourite and didn’t find the right spot but she found the line well suggesting a win is close. That was a month ago and she was scratched from a winnable race last week. A big threat. 4. Sting In The Tail can’t be faulted of late, she does tend to get back in the field but she’s been running on nicely with a win here three back and last start up to 2400m she again ran on into second. Definite chance.
How to play it: Bearings EACH-WAY

Race 5

3. Lunar Lover has found an excellent race to back up his eye-catching placing when resuming at Gosford. Found himself well back over the same trip but once he balanced in the straight he took significant ground off the winner to go under less than half a length. 5. Otono is probably racing a bit below what she promised from last prep but she didn’t do a bad job when fifth over this course two weeks ago. Just had her momentum held up slightly but wound up again late. Down in grade and she can lift. 4. Ivan’s Hero led all the way to post a rare win at Rosehill a month ago then from the outside gate had a tough run three wide throughout and dropped off. Should perform better here.
How to play it: Lunar Lover WIN

Race 6

7. Amreekiyah was considered some chance to beat Weeping Woman last time at Kembla and given where she ended up in the run her effort to run fourth was excellent. Comes back a notch in grade and sure to be fitter, this is her chance to live up to the promise she was showing earlier in the year. 2. Steel Strike did a good job on speed when resuming at this track two weeks ago. Weakened late after being in a three-way battle up front but only beaten a length. Up in trip suits and he could be harder to get past this time. 9. Pretty Powerful returns as a gelding and at 1400m which is very interesting. Had no luck at all first-up last prep then ran okay at shorter trips in two subsequent runs. Keep very safe.
How to play it: Amreekiyah WIN

Best Bets:

Race 5 (3) Lunar Lover; Race 6 (7) Amreekiyah

Best value: Race 4 (5) Bearings
