Selections based on a soft track.
Race 1
2. Gold Capital finished fourth at Scone three starts ago when resuming from a spell and has since followed a third at Tamworth behind Yanabah with a last-start second at Muswellbrook when racing on the speed and fighting on strongly behind all-the-way winner Anarchist. He’s drawn awkwardly here but looks primed to break through with a maiden victory. 6. Star Of Kongo has been placed at Scone and Grafton at his past two starts and looks set to run well again against these. 9. Redaluca Girl won a trial at Scone before following a second at that track with a last-start third at Tamworth, while 7. Alchemena worked home well when midfield at Muswellbrook last week and a repeat would have her figuring prominently.
How to play it: Gold Capital to win.

Race 2
1. Argyros makes his debut. He had two trials in October last year and won both. He’s had another trial earlier this month at Muswellbrook to prepare for this and he won that as well. He looks talented and can start his career with a win. 2. Dijon Autre is also on debut and has won each of two trials leading into this. He bears close watching and should be in the thick of things. 7. The Simple Life has finished second in three recent runs and should figure prominently again. 5. Novaya is a mare on debut after four trials, including two recently, and is not out of this.
How to play it: Argyros to win.
Race 3
2. Prorata is a talented galloper by Pierata that has won two of seven starts. He followed a third at Kembla Grange in April with a fourth at the same track and resumes here on the back of a trial in which he finished fourth in at Warwick Farm. 8. Toy Story was placed at Port Macquarie before a midfield effort at Tuncurry and warrants thought. 9. Taking The Mikki resumes after some below-average form last campaign, while 6. Dehero can improve on a last-start Muswelbrook flop.
How to play it: Prorata to win.
Race 4
7. Satono Invader ran second in a couple of Gosford trials before making her debut with a second at Coffs Harbour when racing on the speed and not being beaten far. She gets another chance here from the good draw. 5. Hard Knock Life ran third in the same race Satono Invader contested when last produced and looms as a chance again. 3. Devoted To You ran second behind a handy one at Tuncurry when fresh up last time out and is worth thought, while 11. Talk About Layla is a filly by Microphone on debut after two recent trials.
How to play it: Satono Invader to win.
Race 5
6. So Koby has only had two starts but has been impressive winning both of them at Grafton. She should push forward from the wide alley here and take a power of getting past. 8. Queen Of A Hand resumed from a spell with a strong Coffs Harbour victory and warrants respect again. 5. Toyger resumed with a win at Port Macquarie and should be prominent again with a repeat of that, while 2. Canny Prospect did the job well to score in good style last start at Port Macquarie.
How to play it: So Koby to win.
Race 6
4. Mission To Win has been racing in great form with two wins from his most recent starts at Grafton and then at Coffs Harbour. He has a great overall record with five wins and as many placings from just 21 starts, and has the advantage of the 1.5-kilogram claim for apprentice Shae Wilkes. He should take plenty of beating. 7. Phoenix Power resumed from a spell after a solid trial with a strong victory at Coffs Harbour. Another bold showing is on the cards. 5. Haze scored at Narromine two starts ago and then finished a last-start sixth at Mudgee. This looks within his reach. 8. Spiritly comes into this on the back of a last-start third at Tuncurry and warrants some thought.
How to play it: Mission To Win each way.
Race 7
9. Wing Nut won a maiden at Port Macquarie in January and then was placed at the same track before a fourth here and then a spell. He’s had two runs back for a fifth at Port Macquarie and a last-start third at Coffs Harbour, and looks ready to break through. 8. The Comanche is a stablemate of Wing Nut that resumed with a Port Macquarie victory before a midfield effort at Tuncurry. He is worth including among the main chances. 6. Smart Jazz has been midfield in a couple starts since a close second at Newcastle three starts ago. 3. Amarone was a winner at this track in July and has performed well in each of three runs since despite not being in the placings. He should run well in this.
How to play it: Wing Nut each way.
