Selections based on a good track.

Race 1

1. Dwayne has shown his share of talent with five placings to his name from eight starts. Formerly trained by Chris Waller, Dwayne has had two starts for the Nathan Doyle stable and he’s been placed in each of them, at this track and at Wyong. He steps up in distance for this, which looks ideal at this stage of his preparation. 7. Bohemian Art is a stablemate of Dwayne and has been just behind the placings in each of her past three starts. 5. Redadel has finished fourth in his past two starts at Coffs Harbour and is capable of improving in this line-up. 6. Adelina Falls ran home reasonably well when midfield at Taree last time out and she can get into the placings.
How to play it: Dwayne to win.

Race 2

4. Calypso Rocket made his debut at Eagle Farm in August and finished second. He won a trial at Taree before resuming with an eighth at Randwick when beaten less than two lengths, and he looks set to break through with a win. 6. Ol’ Mate Coop has finished in the placings in five of his seven starts and comes into this after a second at Coffs Harbour when last produced. 3. Speedy Pete ran his best race yet when a last-start second at Tuncurry and can make an impact. 1. Artie’s Magic was placed at Moree before being spelled and ran third in a Gosford trial in preparation for this resuming effort.
How to play it: Calypso Rocket to win.

Race 3

1. Blue Suede Hooves was placed in his past two starts, at Newcastle and Gosford, before being spelled. He’s had two trials to prepare for this resuming run and won the last of them at Wyong. He looks primed to run well fresh. 3. Exceed Me has finished third in three of four starts and another bold showing is on the cards. 6. Dirty Does It was placed in a couple of runs at Grafton and Taree before a fifth on the Beaumont track at Newcastle. 9. Love You Anyway also comes into this after being unplaced on the Beaumont track.
How to play it: Blue Suede Hooves to win.

Race 4

3. Trounce won in good style at Taree two starts ago and then ran home well enough when a last-start third at Taree. The extra 200m here looks like it will suit and she can bounce back. 1. Call Me Basil was a winner at Tuncurry before failing in the same race Trounce contested last time out. He’s worth another chance. 2. Highly Tempted ran fourth in the event Trounce and Call Me Basil were in at Taree and has claims on that effort. 4. Mars Landing has been racing well and can show up again.
How to play it: Trounce to win.

Race 5

3. Better Late justified an odds-on quote to score a debut win at Scone in August and resumes here after two trials. He ran second in the last of them at Wyong and should be primed to run well again. 1. Wild Pharaoh is having his first start for a new stable and bears close watching. 7. Dubai Gold is resuming on the back of a solid trial and can show up without surprising, while 6. Sheila’s Fanta Sea is also first up and warrants place thought.
How to play it: Better Late to win.

Race 6

2. Tact was a winner at Goulburn in May, then finished last at Randwick before being spelled. He had two trials before resuming with a sixth at Newcastle, then was midfield on the Beaumont track last time out. Aaron Bullock takes over the reins and the rise in distance looks made to order. 4. Golden Honour finished second in two straight races at Taree before finishing fourth at the same track and he should give plenty of cheek again. 9. Naughty Nurse followed a second at Muswellbrook with a solid win at this track over this distance in November. 11. Rockbarton Angel was placed at Newcastle before a last-start midfield effort on the Beaumont track.
How to play it: Tact each way.

Race 7

3. Athena’s Treasure resumed from a spell at Scone last month and relished a solid speed up front when charging home to score a resounding victory. She is drawn to get a good run from a low draw. 4. Aye Aye Skipper made good ground in the straight when finishing fifth at Taree when last produced and can figure prominently here. 5. Pins And Needles finished ninth in the same race Aye Aye Skipper contested last time out and is capable of getting into the minor money. 2. Passionate Rebel is resuming from a spell for a new stable and won a recent trial at Kempsey.
How to play it: Athena’s Treasure to win.
