Dockers strike again

Andrew Brayshaw has bobbed up to win a free kick for a high tackle and then he booted the goal.

That’s two goals in a row for Freo as the clock ticks down in the third term.

Dudley kicks crucial goal for Freo

Persistence paid off or Dudley who kept chasing the ball and winning it back as the Cats chased him through the forward line.

He ended up dribbling it home for his third goal.

The Cats desperately needed that goal, now they need more of them.

Neale kicks another

The Cats have taken over this match as Mannagh looped a handball into Neale and he volleyed in the goal like he was a striker in soccer.

The big man got his boot up high for that finish and now the Cats are within a goal of the lead.

Neale goals again, here come the Cats

Neale is growing taller as this high-octane match plays out.

He’s taken another strong mark on the lead and booted another goal.

The Cats are within 10 points and the Dockers are looking a little shaky.

Time for a response Freo.

Cameron, Neale combine

Cameron has again shown his class winning the ball on the boundary and hooking it into the square where Shannon Neale took a strong mark.

Neale went back and kicked his second goal, the Cats need more of this from their twin towers.

Young responds for Dockers

Hayden Young had a frustrating season in 2025 with injuries hampering his play but he looks much fitter and stronger in 2026.

The running midfielder just took a handball from Serong and snapped a goal on his left foot.

Luke Jackson “falconed” a teammate in the lead up, handballing it into the poor bloke’s head.

Young celebrated the goal. His team would love him back to his best as he can be a star when fit and firing.

Freo 80, Cats 58 with 17 mins to go in Q3.

Cats score first to start third term

Cats big man Jack Henry has pushed forward and kicked a goal, usually it is Ollie Henry who kicks the goals but not this time.

Henry appeared to have followed Patrick Voss into the forward line and he will happily take that major.

Huge major for the Cats.

Freo 74, Cats 58 with 18 mins to go in Q3.

Watch: Reid shows his class

Classy goal from Freo star Murphy Reid from the first half.

Half-time stats

HT: Fremantle 11.8 (74) to Geelong 8.4 (52)

The Cats took the chocolates that quarter but only because of Jeremy Cameron’s late cameo.

The Dockers lead and look in command but they will need to keep creating goals in the second half as that will keep the Cats on the backfoot.

Will Patrick Dangerfield lift in the second half? And can Bailey Smith take a bigger role?

Time will tell.

“I feel like we turned things around in that quarter and we have the momentum going our way just before half-time,” Cameron told Fox Footy.
