Bystander tackles gunman in incredible footage

By Josefine Ganko

A hero bystander wrestled a rifle off an alleged gunmen in a moment of bravery that may have saved lives, footage from the scene at Bondi Beach shows.

One of the gunmen is shooting a rifle from the patch of grass next to the Campbell Parade car park when he is approached by the bystander.

A man in a white shirt and black pants crouches behind cars in the Campbell Parade car park, sneaking towards the gunman as he fires rounds.

When he gets close enough, he pounces, wrapping his arms around the man and wrestling with him until he’s able to pry the rifle out of his hands and the man falls to the ground.

He then points the rifle at the shooter, who then backs away, walking back towards where the other shooter was still stationed on the bridge.

The bystander places the rifle against a tree and backs away, as another man chases after the shooter and throws something at him.
