A young woman was stabbed in the head and several other people injured during a fight on Thursday afternoon at Easts Leagues Club at Coorparoo, in Brisbane’s inner south.

The woman was rushed to hospital with wounds to her head and body, and a 61-year-old man who suffered stab wounds to his abdomen was also transported.

A 33-year-old man, also wounded in the confrontation, was taken into police custody, and a 41-year-old woman received an arm injury.

The violence happened about 5.15pm at the venue on Main Avenue.

The leagues club posted to Facebook that the venue closed as management focused on “supporting our staff and community”.

“We can confirm an incident occurred at our venue this evening. Emergency services attended. The venue is safe, with no ongoing concerns,” the club said.

Police declared a crime scene at the complex, but said there was no ongoing danger to the public.
