A 20-year-old woman has been charged over her alleged role in a brazen drive-by shooting in which more than 30 rounds were fired at a western Sydney home, forcing its occupants, including several young children, to duck for cover as a barrage of bullets rained down.

A carload of assailants is alleged to have opened fire on a home in Mount Druitt about 1.15am on May 9, leaving more than a dozen bullet holes in the front of the house, where seven adults and four children were inside while the shooting occurred.

It was the second time in four years that the house was targeted in a shooting, with preliminary police investigations suggesting it may have been due to an association with an underworld crime figure.

Terleaha Williams was charged over her alleged role in the shooting on Tuesday, after she was arrested by heavily armed tactical police at another home in Mount Druitt. She has been charged with firing a gun at a dwelling, possessing a banned firearm, and participating in criminal activity. Williams was refused bail and will appear in court on Wednesday.

It follows the arrests of two men, aged 30 and 31, who police allege also played crucial roles in the shooting.

The 30-year-old was charged with directing the activities of a criminal group, firing a gun at a dwelling, and driving during a disqualification period on December 1, after initially eluding officers following a short car pursuit, before eventually being detained at a home in Rooty Hill and taken into custody.

The 31-year-old man was arrested three days later following a planned police operation in Darlinghurst, and was later charged with firing a gun at a dwelling, and participating in a criminal group. Both men remain before the courts.
