Wins for Sarah Snook and Jacob Elordi, while Adolescence takes four Critics’ Choice Awards

2 months ago 15

This year, the awards season look a little different. Instead of kicking off as usual with the Golden Globes, the CCAs have ushered it in. Now in its 31st year, it is taking place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and is hosted by four-time emcee Chelsea Handler.

Celebrating the finest in film and television throughout 2025, it is widely considered one of the most accurate predictors of the upcoming Academy Award nominations. Why? Because they’re selected by about 570 critics and entertainment reporters, meaning they usually reflect broader industry opinion and could therefore signal what Oscars voters (exclusively film professionals) will favour.

More to come.
