One man is fighting for life and another is seriously injured after they were stabbed in a car park outside a fast-food restaurant in Melbourne’s west.
The two men were found with stab wounds outside a Melton ambulance station about 11.50pm on Wednesday, but police believe the men were attacked earlier in a McDonald’s car park several kilometres away.
Crime scenes are being preserved at the McDonald’s car park in Barries Road in Melton West and outside the ambulance station in McKenzie Street.
Police believe the two injured men were left outside the ambulance station after the stabbing.
A third man has been arrested.
Footage from the scene shows the car park still taped off on Thursday morning, and forensics officers combing the area for evidence and apparent blood splatters on the roadside.
One officer was seen placing a dark machete sheath into a brown paper bag, though no weapon was found at the scene.
The two injured men, both aged in their 20s, are being treated in the Royal Melbourne Hospital for upper body injuries.
A 22-year-old Melton South man attended a police station overnight and remains in custody.
“Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident,” police said in a statement.
Anyone with more information is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestoppers.com.au.
