Track soft 7 and rail out 6m from 1400m to WP and 3m the remainder.

Race 1

Conditions will suit 6. Mr Tadashi, which returns to his home track after three straight wins on heavy ground. He was dominant in his latest win in lesser grade after being backed from $3.10 into $2.45. The third-placed horse in that race won their next start in similar company. Shapes as the best weighted runner carrying 1kg less, despite a rise in grade. 1. County Kilkenny is as tough as they come over this trip, and was the one in the money behind the top selection a fortnight ago. Then dug in hard to win on Narrandera Cup day after being challenged a long way from home. More depth here, but drawn to give another big sight from an economical draw. 3. Philadelphia Storm is trained on the track and over the odds after running home late in deeper grade four weeks back. 8. First Day can improve after only plodding home behind County Kilkenny after being well backed, while 4. Miss Stalwart can improve sharply coming back from provincial company.
How to play it: Mr Tadashi to win.

There are eight races on the card at Wagga Wagga on Monday.Jenny Evans

Race 2

Canberra filly 5. Rockabye Roxy has beaten all but the winner in three runs this prep. Got too far back last start here before making up plenty of ground. The drying track is key in an inferior field. 1. Written Order can improve at his second start on a surface likely to push towards a soft 6. 14. Star Royal is a betting watch crossing the border second-up, while 7. Gold Decree, down in weight fifth-up, and locally trained 9. Broken Image head the rest.
How to play it: Rockabye Roxy to win.

Race 3

7. Ikon Park is a three-year-old debutant by Prized Icon trained on the course. Fitted with two solid trials over 1000m in soft going, and an in-form jockey has hopped off the short-priced favourite to ride this gelding for a leading stable. 6. Hold This is a progressive Albury four-year-old likely to jump a short-priced favourite from the inside draw. Caught the eye early in his career around this region and was stiff not to win here a fortnight ago on a heavy 9. Jockey change, though, is a concern. 2. Bennelong Dreams is a stablemate of the former and a market watch on debut. 13. Kip Star is an improving Canberra two-year-old drawn to get a sweet run. Include both 5. Distant Stripes and 8. Mount Ogilvie in wider exotics.
How to play it: Ikon Park to win.

Race 4

4. Majestic Deel represents terrific value at big odds returning for his first run since last spring, and the more the track dries out the better placed the Albury-based four-year-old is. Came off a fast-finishing maiden win to finish behind the placegetters in two fair efforts up to the mile in and around this sort of company. No public trials is typical of the stable, drawn to get cover around midfield, and he’ll be finishing hard in what is a weak line-up. 7. Taluk is hard fit and gets his chance to finally win another race dropping in grade, although jockey change does him no favours. Keep safe 8. Iconic Rose, which will relish the longer trip. 2. Liquor Talk is a betting watch first-up despite drawing wide. 11. Wild Annie can figure in the minor money dropping in grade, with winkers going on.
How to play it: Majestic Deel to win.

Race 5

6. Theo’s Choice charged home to just miss on a heavy 10 two starts ago before failing to finish off here in a deeper race when given a torrid run. Far superior jockey has been booked for another very open race and he thrives on rain-affected ground. 4. Sanzeno hasn’t won for 18 months, but she’s right in this race second-up from a soft draw. Can find a nice trail behind the speed and a drying track is a big plus. 1. Hot Toddy scored a deserved and overdue breakthrough win here fourth-up, running home from well back. Up 2kg from a wider draw, but this is known as the Battlers’ Cup for a good reason. 8. Jenni Divine is another one hard fit, and drawn to find a handy spot on speed. Keep safe 10. Cool As Popeye second-up with a key gear change. 2. Bulla Vinaka draws wide, but can run an improved race third-up.
How to play it: Theo’s Choice to win.

Race 6

4. Dupli Kate will look to build on an impressive 40 per cent winning strike rate heading into her 17th start. The smart Canberra mare did her best work late in a deeper Federal at home before running home late in BM 78 grade at Rosehill. Ready to peak over a shade further. 1. Presides finished best to win twice at his Kembla home earlier in the prep before failing to hit the line in much tougher Midway company. Not badly treated at the weights after the rider’s claim and will be hard to hold out on his preferred soft surface. 7. Future Fund has been given six weeks since a dominant BM 82 win here in heavy ground. Kept ticking over at the trials, although a concern with front concussion plates back on. 2. Astunner is over the odds coming back to this company after two mixed runs against city opposition. 10. Missile Leader is capable of running into the minor money getting back over his best distance, while 11. Tillstrom is a worthy inclusion in wider exotics.
How to play it: Dupli Kate to win.

Race 7

13. Midnight Affair is an underrated mare that finds a very winnable race third-up. Has worked home nicely from well back in two runs here this campaign, and getting to the mile is a big plus. The one to beat. 2. Heart Balm is a good frontrunner on wet tracks, hunting a third successive win against similar opposition, but over a furlong further. 1. Wings Of Carmen drops significantly in class, but up sharply in weight, and midweek Victorian metro form is generally weak. 9. Cayman Island back in grade and distance can run into the minor money.
How to play it: Midnight Affair to win.

Race 8

2. Brial Rose is an inconsistent mare that can bounce back after tackling deeper opposition a fortnight ago. Is drawn to get a good run, and all three career wins from 16 starts have come on heavy tracks. 6. Postwar is a promising three-year-old coming back over the border after careering away to win his maiden at Albury second-up by nearly five lengths. Loves wet going, but still under the odds. 3. Brutal Force is a home tracker drawn low in pursuit of a third consecutive win, but taking on some better ones here. 14. Witch Of November is another local emerging as each-way value deep into the prep, while at big odds 7. Densetsu and 8. Under Wraps, with blinkers back on, head the rest.
How to play it: Brial Rose to win.
