Selections based on a soft track.

Race 1

1. Kissavos has started a short-priced favourite in two starts back from a spell. He ran second at Port Macquarie when first up and followed that with a third at Grafton. He’s drawn ideally here and gets another chance to break through. 2. Redzero has had just three starts, finishing second in the past two, at Scone and Gosford, since resuming from a spell, and been beaten less than a length in each of them. This looks a nice race for her. 4. The Way Ahead has been racing well and followed three straight placings with a last-start fourth at Nowra when not beaten far. 7. Love You Anyway has had three straight second placings and can be thereabouts.
How to play it: Kissavos to win.

Race 2

1. Toomuchinformation showed speed to go forward at this track a couple of weeks ago and did the job well to score a strong win. He should race in a prominent position again from the inside gate and there’s no reason he can’t go on with the job. 3. Dark Justice hit the line well to score a debut win at this track in December. He’s had two trials leading into this return and looks poised to run well again. 2. Trumper was a super maiden winner at Newcastle in November at his second start. He’s had two starts since resuming from a spell and was midfield behind Occult at Muswellbrook last time out. He can figure here without surprising. 6. Our Warrior fought on well to finish third last start at this track.
How to play it: Toomuchinformation to win.

Race 3

13. Artie’s Magic has had four starts back from a spell and placed in three of them. He raced on the pace and fought on well to finish third at Muswellbrook last start. He’s drawn awkwardly here but has the tactical speed to overcome that. 10. Varazze was second last start at this track and can figure prominently again with a repeat. 4. Foxy Prague was placed in two on end when resuming before finishing fifth at this track last time out. 2. Prince Of Wants is on debut after two trials and bears close watching.
How to play it: Artie’s Magic to win.

Race 4

4. Optical Moments resumed from a lengthy spell with a second at Canberra earlier in the month and can go one better in this. 11. It’s Ok made her debut with a third at Tuncurry and has the talent to run well again. 8. Thunder Lights ran well enough when a last-start fourth at Muswellbrook to be rated a place chance here. 7. Silver Icon ran fifth on debut at Nowra and can lift on that.
How to play it: Optical Moments to win.

Race 5

8. Dancingontherosso had a number of trials before her race debut where she scored at Tuncurry on a heavy track. She finished off strongly in that event and can go on with the job. 1. Savvyrocker hit the line well for a second at Port Macquarie before a last-start seventh at this track. She is talented at best and can get into the money again. 4. Blue Dane has looked good winning his past two starts at Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie, and can be in the mix again. 3. Diamondsaremio was placed at Grafton two starts ago and can figure.
How to play it: Dancingontherosso to win.

Race 6

2. Talana was back to winning form at Port Macquarie when last produced. He hit the line well late and can make an impact again in this from the inside barrier. 4. Off The Scale ran well when finishing third at Scone two starts ago and then was safely held at Newcastle. This looks more suitable. 12. Prince Is Game ran well when finishing second at this track when last produced and shouldn’t be taken lightly. 3. Annulus hasn’t figured in the placings for a while but has the talent on his day to get into the minor money.
How to play it: Talana each way.

Race 7

7. Grassburn raced on the speed and finished a solid third at Port Macquarie three starts ago and since finished fourth on the Beaumont track at Newcastle and sixth at this track last start. She’s drawn to get a good run here and can improve. 1. Pixie Hallow showed speed at Grafton when last produced and held on OK to finish sixth last week. He can go forward again here and take plenty of running down. 10. Mr Trackside was midfield at this track when last produced and warrants consideration again, while 5. Jewels Statement wasn’t disgraced in the same race Pixie Hallow contested at Grafton last week and is worth plenty of thought.
How to play it: Grassburn each way.
