A man has been found stabbed and tied up in the boot of an Uber in Sydney’s west.

Around 6.50am on Sunday, a passerby heard noises coming from the boot of a white Toyota sedan parked in a residential car park on Woodville Road, Villawood and called police. The sedan had an Uber sticker on the back window.

Emergency services tore the boot off the car and found a man, aged in his 30s, tied up in the boot with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Footage of the man being treated by paramedics showed he had injuries to his face and was transported in a neck brace. A walking crutch was in the boot of the car, with the boot lid lying on the ground, surrounded by broken glass from the car’s window and rubbish.

A crime scene has been established.

In a separate incident, a rideshare driver was allegedly stabbed with a machete by a teenage passenger, also in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to Patrick Street, Blacktown, just after midnight following reports of an assault.

A 31-year-old Uber driver was allegedly stabbed in the arm by the 17-year-old passenger after refusing to let him connect to the car’s Bluetooth, police will allege in court. The driver was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.

The teen allegedly ran from the car. He was arrested around 2.45 am at a home on Valeria Street, Toongabbie and taken to Blacktown Police Station. He was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Children’s court on Sunday.

More to come.
