Track Soft 5 and rail out 6m
RACE 1
5. Riez Souvent is well placed to score at his third start for the Chris Waller stable who has six of the nine accepted runners. Worked home okay on debut before sticking on strong behind a heavily backed front-runner at Rosehill 16 days ago. Gets more ground here, and an economical run right behind the speed. 3. Patonga is a stablemate of the top selection and similarly will be right there at his third run from the inside after running home okay at Hawkesbury when backed from $4.00 into $2.90. 6. Tutto comes out of that same race as Riez Souvent when working home into a place at big odds. Two more Waller-trained runners 4. Precise Star resuming for a second prep off a soft trial, and the improving 7. Flaxlands four runs into her career; can both figure in the money.
How to play it: Riez Souvent to win.

RACE 2
6. Lambertina is an emerging filly primed to open her account in another maiden where little separates the leading contenders at set weights. Was $3.20 into $2.70 on debut at the provincials before working home late in a race with solid depth. Fitter now, she can improve enough from a similar low draw, and was scratched from Hawkesbury on Thursday to be saved for this. 10. Snitzel Miss made up plenty of ground when resuming at Rosehill despite drifting in betting. 8. Our Huntress comes to the city at her second start after only being collared in the final strides on debut at Kembla as a well backed favourite. 1. Konsa on debut from the inside draw behind two improving trials, and 7. Miss Lola third-up, are both from the Waller yard and head the rest.
How to play it: Lambertina to win.
RACE 3
8. Attractiveness is a Northern Hemisphere-bred filly on debut for the Richard and Will Freedman stable in an open and competitive maiden sprint. Looked good through the line in a recent trial, naturally bred to get further, and from a low cover draw can make an instant statement. 4. Jet is a big betting watch resuming as a gelding for the Waterhouse-Bott stable, with blinkers coming off and behind two progressive trials. 3. Monotone by Lonhro from the Bjorn Baker camp debuts from a wide draw, but fit to go having bolted in the second of two lead-up trials. Watch the betting on 2. Irish Witchy at good odds on debut for the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr stable. 6. Caffe Florian is another lightly raced one improving second-up, but draws wide; while 7. Artgirl four weeks between runs heading into her second start, can add value into trifecta and first fours.
How to play it: Attractiveness to win
RACE 4
1. Bremel is a talented and progressive provincial-based mare who can make it two straight wins off a freshen-up, and upset a short-priced favourite. Chased hard before going home best as a heavily backed fancy when resuming in a BM 88 at Wyong, and has won both second-up starts prior. That market leader is speedy filly 5. Casserousse who is eyeing three on the bounce in her first full prep after leading all the way at Rosehill. Doubt anything else can win, but keep safe 3. Strada Varenna improving second-up coming back in grade, while 7. Ernaux gets a soft run after a fast-finishing third-up maiden win at this track.
How to play it: Bremel to win; quinella 1 and 5.
RACE 5
3. Oakfield Wallaby is a tough and improving provincial mare who can land an overdue sixth career win third-up in a very tricky race. Worked home okay when resuming at Scone before losing his spot at a vital stage, yet still found the line well at Newcastle behind a smart one. Peaks now from a soft draw significantly over 300m further. 4. Format dropped out a long way four weeks back at Rosehill after a tough provincial win, but has freshened via a strong winning trial, and can bounce back. 1. Sosino is banging on the door after four runs this prep, and will roll forward from the inside draw. 8. Sacrify is hard fit switching from a Victorian campaign; while both 9. Chateaux Park who has won his last two, and 10. Old Gregg fifth-up and staying over the distance; are capable of running into the minor money.
How to play it: Oakfield Wallaby to win.
RACE 6
7. Fleeting Spirit is terrific value in a wide and tough race, coming back in grade and a shade in trip second-up from a low draw off a five week freshen. Can park right behind the speed, and just needs a clear run from the top of the straight. 8. Show Business draws out, but comes off a dominant provincial win in weaker class, and is on the rise. 5. Chicama is progressive, with blinkers going on, and comes back significantly in grade four weeks between runs via a quiet trial. 4. Invisible Magic emerges as each-way value and a clear market watch resuming with gear changes off two trials for the Ciaron Maher yard. Gap to the rest.
How to play it: Fleeting Spirit to win.
RACE 7
7. Balkans is a progressive and hard fit five-year-old ready to win again fifth-up at good odds over 150m further in another wide affair. Placed in two of his last three at this level, both from on speed and well back, and importantly is drawn to get a handy trail before being taken to the outside past the 350m. 6. Istolea Merc has disappointed in his last couple as a clear favourite, although had no hope last time given a torrid and wide run. Looking for this trip fourth-up, and jockey change is a plus. 3. Memoria can peak second-up staying in the grade and four weeks between runs. 1. Mogo Magic has a big task getting over from the outside barrier under a big weight, but there was plenty to like about his dominant second-up win in similar company before failing on soft ground in a deeper race 24 days ago. 5. Rolling Magic who hit the line hard in lesser grade when resuming, and 8. Bat Out Of Hell drawn to get a soft run first-up; both go through wider exotic plays.
How to play it: Balkans to win.
RACE 8
3. Eclair Encore is an honest and still progressing provincial mare who finds a thinner race fourth-up. Does rise sharply in weight, but her closing Saturday effort behind a smart winner augurs well for a race with much less depth. 1. Verbil is super fit and building an impressive record having not missed a place in his last five, including a dominant all-the-way win here in similar company a fortnight back. 6. Forecaster is over the odds dropping back in grade and trip. 9. Hyperbolic drawn low second-up can figure in the money at good odds.
How to play it: Eclair Encore to win.
