Selections based on a good track.

Race 1

1. Coyote had been racing well with two straight thirds at Newcastle in his first two runs back from a spell. He took on Midway company at Rosehill last time out and despite running 10th was only 2.8 lengths behind the impressive winner Barrengarry. That form looks sound for a race like this, and he gets his chance to break through with another win. 2. Disco Prince got into the placings at Tamworth two starts back and followed it up with a solid fourth at Muswellbrook. He can run another forward race here. 5. Real Housewives failed to fire at Dubbo when eighth two runs ago but bounced back with a solid last start Armidale victory. She warrants respect again here. 6. Tokyo Queen has been safely held in two starts since resuming from a spell but is capable of improvement.

How to play it: Coyote WIN.

Race 2

6. Dunquin is lightly raced with just the three starts to his name, but he has finished third in two of them including on debut at Port Macquarie. He was a close-up fourth at Wyong before the latest placing at Scone. His form reads well for a race like this. 7. Grande Diablo was down the track in his only two starts at Scone and Muswellbrook and resumes here on the back of a second in a Scone trial. 5. Dekka’s Latest is a former Victorian resuming from a lengthy spell for a new stable and could be thereabouts without surprising. 4. Litlfela is a last start Dubbo fourth placegetter that can get into the placings.

How to play it: Dunquin WIN.

Race 3

2. Fierceness has been placed in one of his four starts and that was at Kembla Grange last July. He is first-up from a spell in this after two recent trials and is poised to run well. 6. Marinera is having her first start for a new stable and showed enough on debut to be given a chance in this. 8. The Magnet is a last start third placegetter at Wyong and a repeat of that can have her in the minor money again. 12. Strassman improved on a down the track resuming effort at Dubbo when finishing second at Warren last time out. A placing wouldn’t surprise.

How to play it: Fierceness WIN.

Race 4

4. Long Live ran fourth on debut at Kembla Grange and followed it up with a fourth at Goulburn when giving a good sight. He looks well-placed here. 6. Six Kings was midfield in his only two starts in city grade and resumes here after two recent trials. 2. Castro had four straight placings at Dubbo before finishing fifth at Orange at his latest start. He can get back into the placings against these. 15. Miss Maverick has a string of recent placings to her name and she should be prominent again from the good barrier.

How to play it: Long Live WIN.

Race 5

3. Whateley hit the line well when second-up from a spell with a last start third at Muswellbrook. The extra distance here should suit, and he looms as a leading contender. 5. Stockholm has won two in a row at Dubbo and can take plenty of beating again if he maintains that form. 6. Flamboyant Lad hasn’t been too far away in his two most recent starts and is a place chance. 9. Green Run scored in good style at Dubbo last time out and has claims with a repeat.

How to play it: Whateley EACH WAY.

Race 6

9. Canamble is a talented mare on her day and while her form has been patchy, she did manage to score a solid Scone win four starts ago. She was midfield at Gosford when last produced and if the breaks go her way here, she can give a good sight. 1. Jolly Good Fellow is down in grade after a last start sixth in a County Championships Qualifier at this track and he should run a bold race. 2. Cool Lad was placed in a couple on end at Newcastle and was then spelled after a sixth at that track in October. He is fresh for this. 6. Wonder Step wasn’t beaten far at Orange when resuming and warrants consideration.

How to play it: Canamble EACH WAY.

Race 7

1. Transactions was formerly in the Anthony and Sam Freedman stable in Victoria and showed plenty of talent. He resumed from a spell on the back of a trial for a new stable with a strong victory at Corowa. He looks to be on an upward spiral and can go on with the job. 3. Girrawheen was big odds when running a gallant race for a last-start second at Scone behind Shotgun Bella and only needs to run up to that to be hard to hold out. 2. West Head won a couple on end at Coonamble and Narromine last June and hasn’t raced since finishing sixth at Narromine in September. He bears close watching fresh. 5. The Contractor was a winner at this track two starts ago, and since finished third at Cowra. Another forward showing is on the cards.

How to play it: Transactions WIN.

Best Bets: Race 3 (2) Fierceness.

Race 7 (1) Transactions.

Best Value: Race 6 (9) Canamble.
