Nicole and Keith’s daughter at Dior: Fashion first for Sunday Rose

Following the surprise separation announcement of her parents, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, after 19 years of marriage, 17-year-old Sunday Rose made her first official appearance looking drawn and emotionless.

Don’t read too much into the sullen expression, though; it’s a prerequisite for the runway, with Sunday walking in the hotly anticipated Dior show at Paris Fashion Week.

Wearing a casually draped grey collared top with an unusual black tie detail, black trousers with exquisite pleating and two-tone shoes with a distinct gold Dior logo, Sunday made the line-up for Irish designer Jonathan Anderson’s womenswear debut as creative director for the French luxury label.

Sunday has been slowly building up her modelling resume since making her first runway appearance in Paris in October 2024 for Miu Miu. Before walking in the Dior show, attended by French first lady Brigitte Macron and Johnny Depp, Sunday’s most recent runway job was in March, again for Miu Miu.

Although Nicole has walked on the runway for Balenciaga, appearing in their haute couture show alongside Kim Kardashian back in June 2022, and modelled for her first Dolly magazine cover back in 1983, emerging fashion favourite Sunday turned to a British supermodel for advice.

“I actually got the opportunity to sit and talk with Cara Delevingne the night before the show,” Sunday Rose told Nylon magazine about her Miu Miu debut. “I got to ask her questions and talk to her about her experience as a model.

“It was nice to get to know her as I’ve looked up to her for a long time, but even better was that then the next day at the show, I had a familiar face who could show me the ropes.”

For the Nylon interview, Sunday Rose made her magazine cover debut, being named an “It” girl by the magazine.

Sunday cemented her “It” status by appearing at a Miu Miu party during New York Fashion Week last month.

Sunday’s younger sister, Faith Margaret, 14, may soon be joining her mother and sister on the fashion circuit, having appeared alongside Nicole in an advertisement for French beauty brand Cle de Peau Beauté in July.

In divorce papers filed by Nicole, the Oscar-winning star asked to be the primary residential parent of Sunday and Faith, having them for 306 days per year, with Keith taking them for the other 59.

Now the fashion world will wait and see whether Nicole will appear at former Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s design debut for Balenciaga in Paris on Saturday. Nicole is an ambassador for the label, alongside Michelle Yeoh.

Other Kidman connections currently in fashion include Nicole’s Big Little Lies co-star Laura Dern, 58, making her runway debut wearing a white floral dress in Gabriela Hearst’s sophisticated Paris Fashion Week show.

The transgender model daughter of Kidman’s close friend Naomi Watts, Kai Schreiber, 16, has been named “the face of the future” by Another Magazine, following a high-profile runway season including shows for Calvin Klein and Fendi.
