Officers who attended the property in Kenmore Hills about lunchtime for a welfare check discovered two bodies at the house, believed to be a mother and child.
Police are yet to confirm the relationship between the pair, but say they were known to each other.
The home is listed as an Airbnb, with a five-night minimum stay costing more than $5000.
The listing describes the property as a relaxing and luxury home on 2.5 acres backing onto Mount Coot-tha National Park, with an infinity pool.

The property last sold for $2.5 million in 2022.
A Queensland Police spokesman yesterday said there was no ongoing threat to the community.
