A man has died after being shot in Melbourne’s inner north.
Police found the man with life-threatening injuries near the corner of Brunswick and King William streets in Fitzroy after hearing gunshots just after midnight on Saturday.
Emergency services treated the man, who is yet to be formally identified, but he died at the scene.
Police taped off the area, which is metres about 100 metres from Fitzroy police station, as a crowd of onlookers gathered in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police say they are searching for people who fled the scene in a car before they arrived.
