Local trainer Clint Lundholm could be in for a lucrative day at Dubbo on Sunday when he saddles up chances in six of the eight races.
Lundholm will be out to start the day with a bang when his first starter of the day, Media Spin, lines up in the third event, the North Dubbo RSL Sporties Super Maiden Plate (1100m) with Zoe Hunt taking the ride.
Media Spin has only had two starts and finished in the placings in each of them at Orange on debut and then at Dubbo when resuming from a spell.
“He’s shown us a bit from the outset from finishing second in a Dubbo trial to a third when having his first start at Orange,” said Lundholm.
“He resumed with a solid second at Dubbo earlier this month and he’s pleased us since that run.
“He’s drawn a bad gate on Sunday but if he can overcome that he can be in the finish.”
Hunt again combines with Lundholm when last-start winner Stockholm contests the One More Event Benchmark 82 Handicap (1600m).
“He did the job really well to score an easy win at Dubbo at his latest start and that followed a couple of strong second placings. If he can run up to that then he’ll be very hard to beat again,” Lundholm said.
“He does seem to run very well at Dubbo with him having five starts at home for three wins and a third, so that’s a good pointer to his chances.”
Kody Nestor will partner Lundholm’s next two runners with Plenitude running in the Dubbo RSL 178 Restaurant Country Boosted Benchmark 66 Handicap (1000m) and Quasimoto taking part in the Dubbo City And Gilgandra Toyota Dubbo Gold Cup Day – Sunday 28 September Class 1 Handicap (1100m).
Hunt links with Lundholm again for the final two stable runners of the day with Moon Zone an emergency hoping to sneak a start in the Dubbo RSL Health & Fitness Benchmark 58 Handicap (1200m) and Tiye jumping from a wide barrier in the Dubbo RSL Club Winter Country Classic Final Benchmark 58 Handicap (1300m).
