Good morning, folks. Welcome to our live coverage of the Socceroos’ latest mission on the road to the 2026 World Cup: a friendly against co-hosts, the United States of America, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado. What an American name.
I’m Vince Rugari and I’ll be here to take you through every moment of the action.
Kick-off is at 12pm AEDT, and this match is a Paramount+ exclusive - so if you don’t have a subscription, or even if you do, this page is where you want to be to keep up with everything.
This is another really interesting assignment for Tony Popovic’s Australian side, who kept their unbeaten record in tact on the weekend with a 1-0 win over Canada in Montreal.
But the USA is probably another step up in class, and a great test for the many players jostling for a spot in the Socceroos squad for the World Cup - not to mention the added challenge of playing at altitude in Denver, which is known as the ‘Mile High City’ because it is exactly one mile, or 1609 metres, above sea level. The air is thinner, and thus every exertion asks that little bit more of players, not all of whom would have been exposed to those conditions in a match environment.
Let’s see if the Socceroos have it in them.
