Two vehicles collided in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel just before noon on Saturday, briefly sparking traffic chaos among cars heading north on Saturday afternoon.
The tunnel is closed northbound following a crash at about 11.40am. Police were called to the scene, and the occupants of the cars were not seriously injured, a spokesperson said.
Footage from Live Traffic’s road cameras showed cars backed up through Woolloomooloo. “Expect delays, allow extra travel time, exercise caution,” the transport authority’s advice read.
By about 12.30pm, the tunnel had reopened with heavy traffic slowly easing. LiveTraffic reports the site has been cleared.
