The father and daughter training combination of Brett and Georgie Cavanough will be represented in force at Muswellbrook on Sunday with 10 runners set to go around.
The Cavanoughs have acceptors in six of the seven races at Muswellbrook, starting with the talented Zorko in the Empireguard Maiden Plate (1750m) with Madeline Owen taking the ride.
“He’s been racing well with a couple of recent placings over staying trips, and he gets his chance to break through,” Brett Cavanough said of Zorko.
“He should get a good run from a good gate.”
Jockey Mitchell Bell will partner the Cavanough-prepared Write Me A Letter in the Vinery Stud Country Boosted Class 1 Handicap (1000m), while Bell rides Astra Via and Owen will steer Honniball Drive in the Muswellbrook Motors 2YO Maiden Handicap (1000m).
“Write Me A Letter did the job well to score on debut and backed it up with a solid placing at Muswellbrook at her second start,” said Cavanough.
“Astra Via is a filly on debut with potential and Honniball Drive has race experience on her side.”
Flaunter (Bell) and Leppitsch (Owen) contest the Rosevale Angus Country Boosted Maiden Handicap (1280m).
“Flaunter has been placed in all her starts and should be thereabouts again, while Leppitsch has only had the two starts and can improve,” Cavanough said.
The Cavanoughs will have a three-pronged attack on the Bengalla Cup (1280m) with Owen on Hibiki Harmony, Bell on Hellcibell and Winona Costin partnering Cresta Run.
Hellcibell was a last start placegetter at Grafton while Hibiki Harmony is resuming from a spell. Cresta Run resumed with a close-up fourth placing at Tamworth.
Bell will ride La Potenza for the Cavanoughs in the final event of the day, the Viatek NSW Benchmark 58 Handicap (1280m).
La Potenza has had five starts and has a maiden win at Dubbo to her name in addition to a couple of second placings and two third placings.
Meanwhile, the Paul Messara and Leah Gavranich stable will also be well represented with Avista and Heathcliff contesting races three and four respectively with Aaron Bullock partnering both gallopers.
