Police believe they have found the body of an allegedly tortured missing Kelvin Grove man in bushland about 140 kilometres away in the South Burnett region.
Andrew Burow’s disappearance was reported to police on August 24, with police appealing for information about three vehicles around the Blackbutt area.
Following that appeal, police said Crime Stoppers received a report about a fire in the Blackbutt area about 4am on August 26. That led to police establishing crime scenes along Brooklands Pimpimbudgee Road at Maidenwell and in bushland along the D’Aguilar Highway, near Moore.

It was at the Maidenwell site the remains were found on Tuesday afternoon and while they had not been formally identified, police had been in contact with Burow’s family.
Two people – including Anthony Perrett, an ousted CFMEU delegate with links to former union boss Jade Ingham – had earlier been charged with his torture. Neither man has been charged in connection with Burow’s death.
There is no suggestion Ingham has involvement or knowledge of Perrett’s alleged criminal activity.
Detective Acting Superintendent Craig Williams said the investigation still had a way to go.
“Every piece of information provided to police is crucial for this investigation,” he said.
“Police will continue to utilise every avenue available to us until we have answers.”
Burow, a 56-year-old cybersecurity manager, was last seen on August 20, with police declaring crime scenes at three Sunshine Coast locations.

Queensland Police officers had descended on a property at Kokoda Avenue in Bli Bli, which backs onto bushland and the Maroochy River, last Wednesday.
Investigators were still seeking information about three seized vehicles– a black 2010 BMW X3 with Queensland registration 802-NX4, a black 2011 Ford Ranger utility with false Queensland plates 257-LX8 and a silver 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander wagon with plates 385-KU2.
Anyone who saw the vehicles, or had dashcam footage of the vehicles in the Brisbane, Ipswich, Yarraman, Blackbutt and Sunshine Coast areas between Thursday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 26, were urged to contact police.
A court on Friday heard that police had discovered a mobile phone, zip ties, a firearm and a piece of paper with the victim’s parents’ address.
Perrett and his co-accused, 26-year-old Billy Howard, did not apply for bail and will face court again in October. They have not been additionally charged.
