While covering school shootings, Steve Hartman said he found himself growing numb to the tragedies. In 2018, he started writing letters to families that lost a child in a school shooting since Sandy Hook, asking if he and photographer Lou Bopp could document their child's bedroom. Hartman and director Joshua Seftel talk about their Netflix short documentary, "All the Empty Rooms."
