Voss says he is trying to ‘tone down the chirp’
By
Fremantle star Patrick Voss spoke to Kayo Sports post game.
On setting a club record for winning margin:
“I didn’t know that. That is our closest performance to a 120-minute display and I’m really proud of the boys.
“It’s a bit of a different week coming to Bunbury but the atmosphere out here was unbelievable.
FT: Fremantle 24.11 (155) d North Melbourne 4.7 (31)

Fremantle are the class team in the AFL right now while North Melbourne and their decision to sell home games to Bunbury and Perth should be thrown under the brightest of spotlights after the Dockers thrashed the Roos today.
The Roos kicked their last goal via George Wardlaw early in the second term as the Dockers piled on 19 consecutive goals to record their biggest ever winning margin, 124 points.
Star ruckman Luke Jackson and a countless list of teammates shared the ball around and carved up North’s defence on a ground that was longer and wider than their usual home ground of Marvel Stadium. If a resurgent West Coast also knock off the Roos at Optus Stadium next week, this trip will have been a nightmare one for Alastair Clarkson and his men.
North will no doubt get millions of dollars to sell these games to WA, but what will the cost be to the belief of their players and to the club’s hopes of making the top 10? Would a finals berth be worth more than that? Surely it would, but on today’s performance it looks a long way away.
Dockers star Patrick Voss snapped the last goal of the match, capping off a strong display. The Dockers are the most serious of premiership contenders as they head for a bye next week. The Roos are a long, long way from that – about the distance between Bunbury and Melbourne.
They couldn’t, could they?
By Russell Bennett
At the time of posting this, the Dockers have piled on 17 unanswered goals against an insipid North in Bunbury. We thought these days were over for the Roos. They should be, anyway.
But it got us thinking… what’s the record for most consecutive goals in an AFL match since 2000?
The answer is 23, by Geelong against Freo, interestingly enough, in round 22 of 2018.
To break that mark the Dockers will have to kick another seven goals in seven minutes. Not likely, but not impossible.
What that factoid does tell us, though, is how far a club can climb in the space of eight seasons.
Hang in there, Roos fans (and you too, Bombers).
Voss treating Roos with disrespect

Patrick Voss is prancing all over the Roos in the final term.
He’s booted two goals, missed two others and given former Docker Griffin Logue a punishing ‘Don’t argue’ fending him off and leaving him sprawling on the ground. He stared him down as he was on the ground.
This match can’t end soon enough of the Roos and only some wasteful kicking from Freo is stopping this from becoming a historic trouncing.
Freo 122, Roos 31 with 13 mins left to play.
Freo told to ‘put ’em to the sword’
By
The Kayo commentators have encouraged Fremantle to show their ruthlessness and “put North to the sword” in this final term.
Perhaps they will do just that as Patrick Voss has just nailed a long shot from the right pocket.
The Roos might in for a painful term here.
Freo 113, North 30 with 19 mins to go.

3QT: Fremantle 17.5 (107) to North Melbourne 4.6 (30)

This is smashing from the Dockers as the extra long confines of Bunbury continue to confound and exhaust the Roos, this is the furthest thing from a home game in both distance and spacial reality.
Michael Frederick just marked a long kick from Voss and booted another goal.
That’s 12 goals in a row for the Dockers while the Roos are goal-less for more than 40 minutes, their last goal was from George Wardlaw early in the second term.
Wags online are joking that Roos fans have left early to avoid the traffic on the highway but there is a lot of purple in this crowd and they look very happy in their seats.
Update on Hardeman
By
Just updating an earlier post that said North’s Riley Hardeman had injured his chest.
He has been officially ruled out with a concussion and won’t return today.
Freo 101, Roos 30 with five mins to go in Q3.
