Cox off for Dockers
By
Brave play from Dockers key defender Brennan Cox who dived towards the ball and beat to Lions in the process.
But he also took an accidental knee to the side of the head but it appears his knee is getting checked.
He has jogged off but looks very ginger - it’s hard to know if he hurt himself or has a head knock but with under five minutes to go until half-time, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dockers assess him during the break.
He would be a big loss given the strength of the Lions forward line.
Amiss has kicked his second goal in a boost for the visitors.
Eight for Curnow - Swans run riot against Tigers
By Jonathan Drennan
Star full-forward Charlie Curnow kicked a season-best eight goals while Hayden McLean booted four as the Swans played themselves back into form with a 114-point demolition of Richmond at the SCG.
The Swans rested a number of bodies for the rare visit of the Tigers to Sydney, but the hosts were still far too strong in a commanding performance that went some way to restoring confidence after last week’s 27-point loss to Geelong. The pre-game AFL Record proved prophetic: “2nd v 17th and it’s at the SCG. This won’t be close”.
After struggling on the narrow oval in Geelong, Isaac Heeney and Chad Warner were delighted to return home to the sun and wide open spaces of the SCG. Both men had 32 disposals, with Heeney kicking five goals and Warner three.
The Swans finally rested ruckman Brodie Grundy, who had played all 11 games this season. In his absence, cult figure Peter Ladhams stepped up for his first appearance of the season.
Bailey, Cameron stands up for Lions
By
Zac Bailey has goaled on the run and given the home crowd a boost.
With halftime fast approaching, the Lions need something to give them some juice.
“They need some goals, they need the music, they need Country Roads,” Dal Santo said on Kayo Sports.
Within two minutes of that comment, Charlie Cameron kicked a goal with a tight snap.
The Lions are fighting back.

Dockers in command
By
Fremantle’s lead has grown with Jye Amiss snapping a goal from the left pocket and Sam Switkowski has booted a goal after it.
The Dockers dominance isn’t completely reflected in the scoreboard but the Lions are making such a limited impact in attack that it isn’t hurting them yet.
“Four goals, six behinds doesn’t do justice to how much they have dominated this game,” Nick Dal Santo said on Kayo Sports.
“I think they’ve got the Lions exactly where they want them,” Adam Simpson said on Kayo.
Freo 42, Lions 11 with 12 mins to go in Q2.
Coleman out with hamstring injury
By
Shocking news for the Lions with Kayo Sports reporting that star defender Keidean Coleman is out for the match with a hamstring injury.
Coleman has battled back from a knee reconstruction and his long kicking and rebound skills will be missed.
Freo 23, Lions 11 with 18 mins to go in Q2.

Check out Freo’s lead in handballs? They’ve had more than double what the Lions have had.
QT: Fremantle 3.5 (23) to Brisbane 1.4 (10)
By
The Dockers have hit the ground running and look comfortable on the unfamiliar confines of the Gabba.
Josh Treacy has looked strong in the forward line and Murphy Reid has been stellar in midfield.
The Lions need to get hold of them or this could be a painful loss.
Treacy goals for Freo
By
Josh Treacy is now on the board after kicking a goal following a mark.
The Dockers move this ball so smoothly, Adam Simpson described the Dockers as having the best system of play for going forward in the AFL right now.
Freo 22, Lions 9 with four mins to go in QT.
Ashcroft goals for Lions
By
Will Ashcroft has kicked the first goal of the match for the Lions and the home crowd loved that one.
That blue paint has struck again too with half of Ashcroft’s upper body blue from landing in saint paint, as Mark Howard on Kayo Sports joked, he looks like Mel Gibson in Braveheart.
Can still kick a goal regardless.
Freo 16, Lions 9 with seven mins to go in Q1.
Satisfaction demanded? Johnson appears to slap Neale
By
We will need to get some more context around this but a replay just showed that Freo’s Matthew Johnson slapped Lachie Neale across the face as the pair grappled for position before a ball-up.
Neale was given a free kick and shown rubbing his reddened face.
Given that the AFL is cracking down on tummy punches, will they also cite Johnson for a face slap?
Time will tell on that one but it was rather wild to see that on the replay.
In the meantime, Patrick Voss has bobbed up and kicked a goal from the pocket. The Dockers are flying.
Freo 15, Lions 3 with 10 mins to go in Q1.
