Mannagh kicks two more goals as Cats take big lead

Shaun Mannagh has booted two more goals in a matter of minutes.
He is dominating Jaspa Fletcher. He’s kicked three goals in four minutes according to Kayo Sports.
The Lions have lost all five centre bounces this quarter - Cats are on fire as Ollie Henry boots another goal.

The ball went to ground in the Cats forward line and after it went through someone’s hands, Shaun Mannagh volleyed it and it sailed through the goals.

Oisin Mullin has shown he’s more than happy playing in the rain as he goaled on the run.
The rain is falling much heavier in this second half but Mullin was still able to sprint at full speed in the wet conditions.

Cats withstood charge; Lions must find their run

Geelong withstood the charge from the Lions to kick three of the final four goals of a high-scoring second quarter.
The Lions drew level but did not grab the lead. Mistakes from the Lions - a 50-metre penalty from Darcy Gardiner and a turnover from James Tunstill - allowed the Cats to halt the momentum.
Brisbane regained momentum with centre clearance dominance in that quarter and both have recorded more than 30 inside 50s in the first half.
It’s a quality game and the Cats have managed to stop the Lions’ run from the back half.

Turnovers are being punished severely tonight and James Tunstill just experienced this as his powerful kick just went over his teammate’s head and into Cats hands.
Within three kicks, Bailey Smith was booting a goal on the run.
“If you make a turnover tonight, you stand out like a sore thumb,” David King said on Kayo Sports.

A great night for both Camerons

It’s Charlie Cameron’s turn for a goal to remember from the same pocket Jeremy Cameron kicked a snap in the opening quarter.
Cameron sped into an open forward line, outran Lawson Humphries, then kicked a dribble goal from the boundary line in a team lifter. The crowd is up and about and scores are level.
There have now been five spectacular goals from the Cameron (take your pick) pocket at the Gabba tonight. That is five out of 13.
No wonder scoring is up given the soft free kicks being paid to forwards inside 50 tonight, while Shannon Neale has marked and kicked truly to put the visitors up again.

Country Roads are back as teams trade goals

Charlie Cameron kicked another typically classy goal from the forward pocket and the Lions fans loved it, not only because it meant Take Me Home, Country Roads made a return but because his goal was a classy piece of forward play.
The fans sung with gusto and the scores were tied at 38-38.
But Geelong went forward soon after the ball-up and won a 50-metre penalty, which led to Ollie Henry nailing a shot for goal.
Not to be outdone, Levi Ashcroft created his own goal from nothing with a super snap.
