Where to watch the 2025 AFL grand final in Brisbane

1 week ago 7

It’s Brisbane’s third consecutive AFL grand final and the Lions are looking to be back-to-back premiers in 2025. But not if Geelong have anything to say about it.

The 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final starts at 2.30pm on Saturday, September 27, and supporters who haven’t made it down to Melbourne will need somewhere they can watch it live and loud.

Your local pub can fit the bill, and there is also the official viewing site in New Farm. Be sure to settle in early: the pre-match entertainment at the MCG is headlined by Snoop Dogg, with support from Baker Boy, Vera Blue, Tash Sultana, Emma Donovan and Kee’ahn, as well as footy perennial Mike “Up There Cazaly” Brady.

Getting in early on Thursday at New Farm Park was Greenslopes mum Anne Pattearson and her kids Madeleine and George.

“It’s an activation that AFL Queensland are doing ahead of the grand final, they have some clinics for the kids, I think it just gets them excited for the big match on Saturday,” Pattearson said.

Her family hosts a grand final party every year, no matter who is competing.

“We’re a big AFL family,” she said. “Obviously we’re more excited when it’s the Lions.”

Here are some top Brisbane viewing spots where the Lions’ spirit will roar its loudest.

New Farm Park

In 2025, New Farm Park is the centre of the action. Thursday and Friday there are football clinics, handball targets, merchandise and facepainting from 8.30am-3pm, while on Saturday the Lions’ official Grand Final Watch Party lasts all day from 8.30am to 6pm, screening the live broadcast. Bringing your own food is advised, and alcohol is allowed, though discouraged.
