Fancy a refresher of the fourth T20?

It was a big night out for Glenn Maxwell, as described in this piece by Dan Brettig:

With two excellent catches and then an otherworldly assist on the boundary for Cameron Green, Maxwell helped keep the West Indian tally to 205 – manageable dimensions on a tiny ground.

Then in his recast role as an opener, Maxwell crushed 47 from 18 balls to bring the target well within range. Inglis, batting No.3, helped him get the innings off to a sprightly start by skating to 51 (30 balls) after Mitch Marsh fell lbw second ball to the left-armer Jediah Blades (3-29).

Green (55 not out, 35 balls), who has shown growing authority in each innings on tour, then guided the tourists home by three wickets with four balls to spare.

At one point in the innings, Maxwell monstered four sixes in five balls, demonstrating his adaptability to different assignments up and down the order. One of them was dropped by former West Indian spinner Samuel Badree in the broadcast area.

The line-ups

Marsh reveals Tim David and Ben Dwarshuis will replace Xavier Bartlett and Cooper Connolly.

Hope, meanwhile, confirms two changes with Keacy Carty replacing the injured Rovman Powell and Alzarri Joseph in for Roston Chase.

The teams are as follows ...

Australia: Mitchell Marsh(c), Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis(w), Cameron Green, Tim David, Mitchell Owen, Aaron Hardie, Ben Dwarshuis, Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa

West Indies: Brandon King, Shai Hope(w/c), Keacy Carty, Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd, Jason Holder, Matthew Forde, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Jediah Blades

Australia win toss, opt to bowl

“We are going to bowl first,” says captain Mitch Marsh. “It is another opportunity representing your country; everyone wants to be consistent with the process. The most pleasing thing is the clarity under pressure.”

West Indies fined by ICC

The ICC confirmed overnight the hosts will be docked 10 per cent of their match fee for a slow over rate that left them two overs behind target during their three-wicket loss to Australia in the fourth T20 on Saturday.

Captain Shai Hope pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction.

Zampa a milestone man

This will be the 100th T20 international for Adam Zampa, who joins a small club featuring Aaron Finch, David Warner and Glenn Maxwell.

That quartet are the only four to reach a century of matches in both T20s and ODIs.

“Really proud to join that group,” Zampa said ahead of this match. “Not many of us have done it. I’ve played a lot more than I thought, that’s for sure, but it’s a nice achievement. It goes to show the longevity - I just tried to make this spot mine, and luckily enough I’ve been around the team for a while. It’s an achievement, a small achievement I think, but it feels like a big one to me.”
