Police say the 23-year-old midfielder was outside a house in Drummond Cove in the early hours of December 28 when a fight broke out on the street.

“It will be alleged, about 3.50am the man struck the victim, a man in his late teens,” a police spokesperson said.

“The victim sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries.”

An altercation between three men, including a shirtless Brockman, was filmed on a mobile phone, with one of the men reportedly suffering a broken jaw in the fight.

Brockman has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm, and will appear in Geraldton Magistrates Court next month.

The club said in a statement it has made the AFL aware of the charge, and is unable to comment as the matter is before the courts.

Brockman is currently training for West Coast’s pre-season, and he is out of contract at the end of the year.

He’s played 30 games in two seasons for the Eagles after 26 matches for Hawthorn since he was drafted at pick 46 in 2020.
