Local trainer Kim Waugh is hoping to strike winning form at Sunday’s Wyong meeting with two gallopers set to go around for the stable.
Waugh will saddle up Gloria when the filly debuts in the Mangrove Mountain Memorial Club & Golf Course Town Plate Maide Plate (1100m) while she also has Rhinestone Lad in action in the Domeland Kulnura Cup Benchmark 64 Handicap (2100m).

Jay Ford will partner Gloria, while Alysha Collett takes the ride on Rhinestone Lad.
“Gloria is a filly by Maurice and out of a Commands mare and she’s a lovely horse,” said Waugh. “We gave her a couple of trials back in June and July, and she’s had another two recently and won the latest of them at Wyong on November 10.
“Jay [Ford] has been on her in three of the four trials, so he knows her very well and from the good gate on Sunday we are expecting her to run a good race.”
Gloria will clash with trainer Peter Snowden’s only runner of the day at Wyong, Composed, which has had two starts for a fourth and a second, both at Hawkesbury.

Trainer Matthew Smith has first starter Curado in the event, with the colt having won all three of his trials. Ciaron Maher has Harrythewiz and Stakeholder lining up, while Michael Freedman is represented by Due North.
The Bjorn Baker prepared first starter Opetaia, Nacim’s Dilmi’s Emery, and the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou trained Sequista round out the field.
As for Rhinestone Lad, Waugh expects the son of Savabeel to run a good race.
“He’s going into the race after a last start fourth behind Mediaro, which he clashes with again, on the Beaumont track at Newcastle,” Waugh said.
“He’s a horse that has shown ability with a maiden win at Newcastle and he’s also won one at Tamworth.
“He finished second at Scone over 2200m two starts ago and was over Sunday’s trip of 2100m in the latest run on the Beaumont track so he’s primed to run very well over that distance again.”
