Man assaulted, left with serious head injuries in fast food carpark

Sticking with crime news this morning, and a teenager has been arrested over an incident outside a fast food outlet in Byford, where a man was allegedly assaulted and fell unconscious, striking his head on the pavement.

On Wednesday around 9pm, police were notified of the disturbance along Abernethy Road involving several people.

Emergency services, including St John WA, attended the scene and provided medical treatment to a 28-
year-old man who was later rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man at an address in Byford a short time later and he was taken into custody.

He has since been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm. His bail was refused and he is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court today.

Armadale Detectives are continuing to investigate the assault are urging anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have any CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone vision, to make a report to Crime Stoppers.

A woman in her 30s has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after crashing her e-scooter early on Friday morning.

Police were called to the scene, along Labouchere Road in Como, around 4.20am after receiving a report a woman on an e-scooter had lost control and fallen.

She was conveyed under priority to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment.

Inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
