Perth bands picked to open for The Foo Fighters in new Australian tour

One of the most popular rock bands of all time is heading down under, and they have announced their final stop will be in Perth.

The Foo Fighters will perform one show in their Take Cover tour at HBF Park in January 2027, after kicking off on the East Coast in November this year.

The Foo Fighters are heading back to Australia.

It will mark the band’s 15th time in Australia. They have sold 1.8 million records across the country.

Local bands from each state have also been selected for the opening acts – Southern River Band and Last Quokka will represent WA.

Pre-sale opens on Friday, with tickets going on sale to the public in a week’s time.

Making headlines today, reporter Hannah Murphy has revealed how a 1974 Balga murder investigation began.

Norm Ainsworth was just 10 years old when he found the body of Gwenneth Graham, under an abandoned old fridge in bushland.

He had his friends had been hunting for lizards when they came across the grim discovery. When he ran to phone police, they initially believed it was a prank.

The case remains unsolved.

And in case you missed it late yesterday, Andrew Hastie, Michaelia Cash and Matt O’Sullivan will be the only West Australians in Opposition Leader Angus Taylor’s new shadow cabinet.

Hastie has been given the title of shadow minister for industry and sovereign capability and deputy leader of the opposition in the upper house while Cash will take on the role of shadow attorney general and leader of the Senate.

Senator Matt O’Sullivan will take on childcare, early childhood, child protection and prevention of family violence portfolios.
