Scone trainer Brett Cavanough is wary of a heavy track at Armidale on Sunday but will send four gallopers to the track with high hopes of success.

Cavanough has first starter Incy Vincy set to contest The Golden Table Country Boosted Maiden Handicap (1100m) with the three-year-old filly by Spieth to be ridden by Mikayla Weir.

“She’s shown us a bit of ability at home,” Cavanough said. “She’s had the two trials and wasn’t beaten far when second in the latest of them at Muswellbrook.

“It looks to be a nice race for her to kick off in on Sunday, even though the wet track is a concern.”

Cavanough will link with apprentice Siena Grima when Bravalatante runs in the Tom Payne Solicitors Maiden Handicap (1400m).

Bravalatante failed to beat a runner home at Scone when resuming from a spell, then improved on
that when a last-start third at Moree when working home well from worse than midfield.

“She’s on an upward spiral after her Moree placing and should run well again,” Cavanough said of Bravalatante.

Cavanough has a two-pronged attack on The St Kilda Hotel Super Maiden Plate (1300m) with Gold Capital to be ridden by Luke Rolls and Abated Breath to be partnered by two-kilogram apprentice
Nick Miller.

“They both look to be good chances,” Cavanough said.

“Gold Capital has been in good form with placings at his latest two starts at Muswellbrook and Tamworth. He’s knocking on the door for a maiden win and gets his chance.

“Abated Breath is owned by Gerry Harvey, and he had his first start for me with a fourth at Tamworth after a strong trial at Scone.

“He has his share of talent and should run well again.”

Tamworth trainer Melanie O’Gorman will send three runners to Armidale with Grima taking the rides on the trio.
