Two motorcyclists have died after colliding head-on in a late-night crash in Wembley on Thursday.

A WA Police spokeswoman said the motorcycles were heading opposite directions when they crashed on Grantham Street, near Pangbourne Street, about 10.50pm.

“One male rider sustained critical injuries and died at the scene,” the spokeswoman said.

“The second male rider sustained critical injuries and died a short time later in hospital.”

According to WA’s Road Safety Commission, there have been five fatalities on the state’s roads not even 10 days into the new year.

Another motorcyclist was killed on Wednesday when his black Kawasaki motorbike and a silver Kia Carnival van collided at the intersection of Indian Ocean Drive and Yanchep Beach Road about midday.

The 56-year-old rider died at the scene.

Later on Wednesday, a 29-year-old woman was killed when her Nissan X-Trail lost control and rolled on Buffalo Road, Leschenault, about 5.38pm.

And on Sunday, the 39-year-old driver of a Honda Accord sedan was killed when his car left the road and hit a tree in St Ronans, east of Perth.

Meanwhile, a Ballajura man is set to face Midland Magistrates Court on Friday and two others have been charged after a car was filmed performing burnouts and crashing into a garage door in Jane Brook in July last year.

Police allege the blue Ford sedan was filmed “reversing at speed” into the driveway of a home on Huntsman Terrace, before it hit the garage door and caused significant damage.

“It will be further alleged the driver then conducted a burnout along the driveway and onto Huntsman Terrace, creating excessive smoke and leaving significant tyre marks on the driveway and roadway,” a WA Police spokeswoman said.

“Footage of the incident was later uploaded to social media.”

The Ballajura man, 20, has been charged with reckless driving in a confiscation zone and criminal damage.

Two other men – a 22-year-old from Clarkson and a 20-year-old from Pearsall – have also been charged with reckless driving in a confiscation zone.

WA Police road policing operations Superintendent Michael Dalla-Costa said the alleged behaviour was unacceptable.

“Driving a vehicle into someone’s property and performing burnouts is not entertainment – it is criminal, dangerous and causes significant harm to victims and the community,” he said.

“This incident resulted in thousands of dollars’ worth of damage and was deliberately filmed and shared online to glorify dangerous behaviour.

“Let me be clear: if you choose to drive recklessly, damage property or endanger lives, we will identify you and you will face the full force of the law.”
