Selections based on a soft track.

Race 1

3. Bellevue has been racing well and broke through with a win at Taree when last produced. He looks poised to go on with the job in this and should be in the thick of things. 4. Pro Velocity won at Hawkesbury in November and has performed well in her runs since then. 2. Gallahop is a Gosford winner that has had one run back from a spell and can be thereabouts. 1. Nugunnawal is first-up from a spell and won at Newcastle at his third start in a race. He looks set to run well fresh in this.
How to play it: Bellevue to win.

Race 2

3. Harry’s Evidence has only had four starts and has finished second in two of them. He ran second at Hawkesbury on debut and then at Newcastle at his third start. He hasn’t raced since a fourth at Hawkesbury in August, but has had two trials to prepare for this and won the latest of them at Rosehill. 1. Blue Suede Hooves hit the line fairly well when resuming from a spell with a third at Port Macquarie and should have benefited from that hit-out. 5. Hammurabi had two trials before debuting with a close-up fifth at Gosford. He warrants plenty of thought on the strength of that performance. 8. The Magic Man resumes from a spell and was a last-tart fourth at Newcastle before the break. He’s had two trials leading into this return to racing.
How to play it: Harry’s Evidence to win.

Race 3

7. Mediterra was behind the placegetters in her first two runs back from a spell this preparation and then ran a better race when she took the lead in the straight only to be grabbed late when a last-start second at Gosford. She is knocking on the door for a win and gets her chance in this. 1. The Way Ahead is resuming from a spell and was placed behind the handy Bev’s Nine at this track before the break. 11. Tartan Tiger is a three-year-old filly on debut for trainer Bjorn Baker. She has had two trials, finishing second in the latest of them at Warwick Farm. She bears close watching. 6. Mark Of Glory ran well enough on debut at Gosford before failing to fire on the Beaumont track at Newcastle last time out. Expect improvement here.
How to play it: Mediterra to win.

Race 4

4. Oakfield Universe resumed from a spell with a second at this track and then followed that up with a last-start fourth at Gosford when only beaten a tick over 1.5 lengths. She has the talent to give this a shake. 5. Hard Jakka ran sixth in the same race at Gosford as Oakfield Universe and can get into the placings here without surprising. 8. Warm Front was a last-start second at Taree and can be placed again. 11. Odaka has been placed in two of three starts since resuming from a spell and only needs to overcome a wide alley to be prominent against these.
How to play it: Oakfield Universe to win.

Race 5

1. Call Me Son resumed with a win at Canberra and has since finished fourth at that track before a third at Gosford. He warrants thought in this. 3. Spenzalot has been placed in his latest two starts at Scone and on the Beaumont track at Newcastle and has claims on those efforts. 6. O Cara Mia won well at Gosford when resuming and has performed well in two city races since then. 5. Dezignation is a last-start Nowra winner and has shown the ability to get into the finish of this.
How to play it: Cal Me Son each way.

Race 6

2. Kyeema ran a great race when resuming from a spell with a second on the Kensington track at Randwick when only run down late. He followed that up with a ninth in a Midway race in town but should find this an easier assignment. 3. Aligned resumes from a spell here and was placed in his latest three starts before the break. He’s had two trials in preparation for this return. 5. Cheeky Dancer won at this track before being spelled and resumed with a seventh at Gosford at the end of last month. 1. Hydrometer ran well when a last-start second at Gosford and has claims with a repeat.
How to play it: Kyeema to win.

Race 7

4. Nazwah was a dominant winner on debut at Gosford and was then heavily backed at Randwick when failing as favourite. She was spelled after that event and resumes here after two trials. She should take plenty of catching. 2. Just Awesome resumed from a spell with a third at Gosford and should run well again here with a repeat of that. 1. Classic Pocket won at Wyong when last produced. 8. Dietrich has had a win and four placings from five starts and should be prominent again here.
How to play it: Nazwah to win.
